BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT MANAGER - AFFINITY & DIRECT CORPORATE BUSINESS

JOB LOCATION: CfC House, Nairobi

DEPARTMENT: Sales and Distributon

KEY OBJECTIVE OF THE JOB:
To grow and manage the Afnity Channel, Broker and new direct Corporate business by
establishing relatonships, ensuring acquisiton of new business and retenton of
acquired/existng ones to achieve business targets.

KEY TASKS:
· Prospect, develop and create partnerships with targeted organizatons in order to
generate afnity new account sales, new direct Corporate business and portolio growth
· Develop sales budget and marketng strategies to achieve business targets
· Ensure Afnity Partners, direct Corporate business and Group Life Schemes fnancial
objectves are met/exceeded by securing additonal opportunites for marketng.
· In conjuncton with the business, Design and develop new innovatve insurance
solutons to satsfy the current market segment
· Grow afnity and direct Corporate sales and ensure quality across multple clients and
group life products.
· Monitor and manage the performance of afnity & directs Corporate clients with
regards to profts, claim ratos, and standards
· Act as the primary contact for Afnity scheme/direct corporate business and
communicate regularly with partners to move initatves forward.
· Capture and analyze afnity channel & direct Corporate channel performance data,
including customer touch point analysis
· Understand Afnity Partner’s goals/objectves and translate them into actonable
solutons to drive proftability and partner/consttuents satsfacton
· Be involved in planning aspects around the development and growth of Afnity
Programs ( product enhancements, program enhancements, and the development of
new afnity channels to help grow new business acquisiton)
· Lead, develop and implement long term customer centric sales plans for afnity, broker
& direct Corporate channel to drive new business acquisiton and retenton of renewal
business.
· Build and strengthen relatonships with our afnity partners and direct corporate
business to maximize business return at every opportunity and ensure retenton
· Develop and train an alternatve sales distributon network for the target products.
· Build up detailed knowledge about the company’s products and keep abreast of market
conditons and developments.
Academic and Professional Qualifcatons:
· Bachelors degree in a business related feld
· Insurance Industry professional qualifcaton : ACII or FLMI and COP is an added
advantage
· A strong qualifcaton in Sales & Marketng
Experience:
· A minimum of 4 years work experience in a insurance/fnancial services industry, 3
of which are in direct insurance sales preferably to Corporate client
· Key account management
· Excellent relatonship management
· Experience in a Partner marketng environment
· Experience in business development and marketng of group insurance products
· A strong knowledge of insurance and fnancial services regulatory compliance
requirements
· In depth understanding and delivery within a relevant operatng environment
Specifc Computer Skills:
· Profciency in Microsof Ofce
Personal and Interpersonal Skills:
· The incumbent should possess Strong presentaton and organizatonal skills
· Have the ability to spot an opportunity and turn it into a viable business propositon,
· Strong commercial acumen,
· First class Sales, Marketng and Negotaton Skills,
· Efectve communicaton skills,
· Working knowledge on group life with strong marketng/sales skills,
· Excellent networking, social and interpersonal skills.
· Self motvated aassertve and result oriented.
· The incumbent must also be a person with impeccable honesty and integrity.
