SALES MANAGER (Kenya)

SALES MANAGER: – SM/01/2012

Reporting to the Commercial Manager, the Sales Manager will be responsible for marketing and selling the company’s products within the designated region:

•    Achieve monthly and annual sales targets as agreed with supervisor. Promote, seek and secure sales orders for company products by visiting current and potential customers. Make regular sales calls and follow ups to customers regarding their requirements
•    Participate in all sales and marketing events, such as shows, exhibitions and fairs within the designated territory.
•    Monitor sales of distributors, stockists and key accounts on a regular basis and report accordingly.
•    Prepare and maintain a record on sales activities and other related market activities including those on competition and advice management accordingly.
•    Train and supervise sales promoters carrying out special promotion events and ensure effective execution of their tasks.
•    Study market trends and carry out market intelligence to establish competition and presence of counterfeit or fake products.

The applicant must possess:

•   A Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/ Mechanical Engineering g. A Postgraduate diploma in  Marketing (CIM) or Business Management & Administration.
•   At least three years sales experience.  Prior experience in an electrical engineering environment would be an advantage.
•   The ideal candidate must possess strong analytical, management and negotiation skills coupled with good communication, report writing, excellent interpersonal skills and proficiency in MS Office Suite. The applicant must display a proven record of strategy formulation and results. He/She should preferably be a member of a professional body.
