Program Overview.
Company is a Telecommunications operator working towards being awarded one of the two licenses offered for the National Bid in Myanmar to offer Telecommunications services. Company has operations in different markets in the Caribbean and in Asia Pacific area. Company is now looking to expand into the Myanmar market.
Purpose of the Role.
The Commercial Contract Lawyer is responsible to draft, participate and conclude negotiations for all contracts awarded ofgeneral works, services. Any legal documentation (including more complex and\or major contracts) so as to protect Companys legal interests.
Prepare Specific Contracts that apply to the different scopes ofworks for services, supply as per required. Advise on the amounts of insurance cover required, vendor guaranties and penalties to be includedin the contracts as to protect effectively Companys legal interest.
Specific Responsibilities.
To provide advice on the procurement process including standing order requirements.
To attend relevant committees, sub committees and other meetings to provide legal advice as required.
To prepare and present briefing papers and reports to the Contract Manager (Contracts), and Legal Department and Audit Department as required.
To advise to the Contract Manager on legal issues and where necessary to recommend changes in the practice(s) and procedure(s) to the Contract Manager.
To provide all the documents, elements and support as per required when a conciliation or a suing process starts with any supplier or vendor.
To close or amend/extend properly all the contracts according to the processes.
Transactional lawyers also advise on the legal rights and company obligations.
Control and Organization of the contracts in their different stages, negotiation, execution and conclusion.
