To repair and maintain medical equipment used in hospitals and to perform preventive maintenance, repair electronic and hydraulic devices, perform installations and calibrate equipment. To report service issues to supervisors to ensure that equipment is maintained in accordance with compliance standards.
1) Install, adjust, maintain, repair, or provide technical support for biomedical equipments.
2) Evaluate the safety, efficiency, and effectiveness of biomedical equipment.
3) Train clinicians and other personnel on the proper use of equipment
4) Discussing and solving problems with manufacturing, quality, purchasing departments.
5) Arranging clinical trials of medical products
6) Dealing with technical queries from the users and giving advice on new equipment.
7) Testing and maintaining clinical equipments
8) Training technical or clinical staffs.
9) Investigating safety related incidents
10) Keeping up to date with new developments in the field, nationally and internationally.
11) Advise hospital administrators on the planning, acquisition, and use of medical equipment.
12) Following up the maintenance program on daily basis.
13) Developing and improving existing devises.
14) Manages the provision of Biomedical Engineering services including implementing effective policies.
15) Promote and maintain effective communication systems within the departments that ensure the team managers/supervisors work together towards achieving the department objectives
16) Manages the day-to-day maintenance of a quality management system including the identification of risk issues. Conducts investigations and audits and ensure corrective and preventive actions are taken to mitigate the risk.
17) Proper documentation of all tasks being carried out in Biomedical Engineering Department.
18) Ensuring proper maintenance and technical support of plants and medical gases.
