- PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Managing Financial, Accounting and Reporting function, the Financial Controller will ensure robust and reliable controls across the verticals. He will need to produce meaningful and insightful reporting that is both appropriate for the business and that it is delivered in an accurate and timely manner. The role takes direct responsibility for all aspects of management reporting from individual business unit to ensure completion of Monthly MIS and statutory accounts and managing liaison with external auditors.
Accounts:
Direct and coordinate company financial planning and budget management functions.
Recommend benchmarks for measuring the financial and operating performance of departments and Business units
Ensure the preparation of timely and accurate monthly management accounts and reports for operational management
Responsibility for all journals and final GL balances including review of month end balance sheet reconciliations and control accounts
Production of statutory accounts for the Group and its various subsidiary companies as and when required in accordance with the relevant accounting principles and the legislation of the countries in which they operate
Direct and coordinate debt financing and debt service payments with external agencies.
Budgets and Costing
Preparation of budgets, forecasts and business plans and continued monitoring & review of performance against them to enable robust reporting of variances to the Board and third party stakeholders. Costing of products and Break even analysis.
Finance & Banking
Prudent Finance management for the group with proper accounting and systematic reporting of activities and its analysis, being strong in all Commercial and Financial aspects.
Negotiate best financing deals with Banks and Financial Institutions for competitive rates and charges for working capital.
Negotiate best suppliers packages for all inputs at best rates and terms for the group business.
Financial management & controls
Effectively manage the working capital components of the Group with specific attention to stock, debtors and cash balances
Active management of overheads whilst seeking out areas for efficiencies for savings
Overseeing monthly processing of payroll and payments to employees.
Internal Audit, Management Audit and Statutory Audits
Review and update, in line with good practice, the Groups internal control environment and produce a Controls and Procedures manual for review and adoption by management
To prepare periodic reports to the Groups Audit Committee explaining the processes adopted and undertaken by management to keep under regular review the effectiveness of internal controls covering financial, operational & compliance controls
Play an active role in assisting management in the risk assessment process and embedding a risk management culture throughout the organization
Direct financial audits and provide recommendations for procedural improvements.
Taxation
Prepare plan for execution of the Groups taxation strategy
Ensure returns for Corporation tax, VAT and other relevant taxes are submitted, payments made on time and all relevant regulations are complied with
Staff
Oversee daily operations of the finance department.
Effectively manage, motivate and develop the Finance dept
Recruit, train, supervise, and evaluate department staff.
Provide accounting policy orientation for new staff.
Commercial
Have sufficient exposure to various commercial activities within the organisation to include :-
Prepare financial analysis for contract negotiations and product investment decisions.
Provide Strategic Guidance to management with respect to contractual business Obligations
Participate in high value purchase committee and provide necessary input for management decision
Provide in depth business cost analysis and modeling
Ensure productive and cost effective Contracts with Vendors
Legal
Have sufficient exposure to various Legal activities within the organisation to include -
Manage Board and Shareholder relationships and perform all secretarial and administrative duties of the organizations Board of Directors
Manage relationships with external solicitors and ensure compliance with agreed service levels
Updating and maintenance of Statutory Records as per Company Act.
General
Work with department managers and corporate staff to develop five year business plans for the company.
Manage relationships with auditors, tax advisers, brokers, bankers and other parties as directed by the MD/management
Carry out any further tasks for which your qualifications and experience are suited as directed by the Company
Represent the company externally to government agencies, Financial Institutions and other external business associates.
- Candidate Should be CA / ICWA with 10 to 13 years post qualification experience in Accounts and Finance. Establishment of Internal controls. Excellent in Tally ERP9. Good communication skill in speaking & writing in English is must. Computer proficiency with knowledge of excel, word and PPT. A go-getter, Sincere, hard working, Trust worthy to maintain confidentiality and Honest. Able to take pressure and speediness in achieving goals.
