We are looking for a General Manager (GM) for a newly built Holiday Inn in Ulaanbaatar, the capital city of Mongolia. The hotel with over 160 beds is slated to open in December 2015.
The GM, ideally with a hotel opening experience, will be responsible for consistently delivering results that contribute to the mission and overall success of the hotel by accomplishing performance objectives focused on business revenues, guest and associate satisfaction and organizational effectiveness.
The GM will be accountable for:
  • Leading all the key activities necessary for the opening of the hotel including the hiring of the major personnel
  • Business planning and budgeting the financials of the hotel
  • Developing and maintaining operating procedures in accordance with the brand requirements
  • Creating and implementing appropriate sales, marketing and pricing strategies
  • Managing the day to day operations, ensuring revenue and guest satisfaction targets are met and exceeded
  • Demonstrating brand citizenship by maintaining compliance with all required IHG brand standards, behaviors, hallmarks and license agreement mandates;
  • Training and coaching the department managers and other key employees
  • Ensuring a safe and secure environment for guests, team members and hotel assets in compliance with hotel’s or owner’s policies and procedures and regulatory requirements
  • Following the company’s finance and control procedures in accordance with the internal audit requirements
  • Managing the business effectively in a changing local business environment and market competences
  • Working closely with owners of the hotel and delivering financial and operational reports on timely manner
  • Performing other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
  • Undergraduate degree from an accredited university, preferably in Hotel and Hospitality Management
  • Minimum three years of experience with an international hotel as General Manager or Deputy GM
  • Strong working knowledge of PMS system
  • Hands on experience in BMS system
  • Strong cross-functional leadership and communication skills
  • Excellent command of English is required
  • Additional language skills (such as Russian or Mongolian) would be an asset.
