Hill International is seeking to employ an Interior Designer, for one of its on-going projects in Qatar. 

Project Location: Qatar

Reports To: Engineering Manager

Qualifications: 

• University Degree in Interior Design, Architecture or other related field
• Excellent command of the English Language
• 10 years of relevant professional experience 
• Excellent communication and computer skills
• Experience in Civil Projects i.e. Residential, Mixed Use, Hotels 
• creativity and imagination
• an eye for design, including color, and good 3D awareness
• the ability to visualize concepts and explain them to others
• good drawing and IT skills
• an interest in changing trends in design.

General Description of Role & Responsibilities:

• Review interior design technical submittals during all design stages, including but not limited to: plans, elevations, sections and details, space planning, color schemes, materials and finishes, sanitary ware, millwork, hardware, furniture, lighting, interior artwork, accessories and aesthetics integration and coordination of equipment, signage, operating supplies and equipment and all related items/ documents for approval/rejection. 
• Take part in workshops of the project assigned and provide productive input to the consultants ensuring that all interior design related information and review comments given have been captured, documented and are accurate. Furthermore, ensure that the concept/ideas of the end users and consultants have been clearly obtained and understood. 
• Review interior design technical submittals during all construction stages, including but not limited to: plans, elevations, sections and details, space planning, color schemes, materials and finishes, sanitary ware, millwork, hardware, furniture, lighting, interior artwork, accessories and aesthetics integration and coordination of equipment, signage, operating supplies and equipment and all related items/ documents for approval/rejection. 
• Oversee / supervise the work of interior design consultants on assigned projects. 
• Carry out periodical site visits to supervise and inspect work in progress undertaken by contractors and/or other related professions and ensure adequate quality control is maintained. 
• Manage furniture tenders, procurement, and installation process. 
• Evaluate and/or prepare interior design scope of work for tenders and tenders submittals as required. 
• Review and evaluate preferred vendors lists in relation to interior design scope of work for approval or rejection 
• Work on multiple projects while prioritizing the tasks in accordance with deadlines and project program. 
• Work closely with architects, projects managers and other disciplines representatives assigned on a particular project to ensure a common approach is met in regards to the design and vision of the project. 
• Coordinate and work closely with other departments in the organization when required. 
• Work closely with the end users to obtain the interior design related requirements in relation to purposes and functions. And determine factors, which impact the design and the planning of interior environment in accordance with the project concept and standards. 
• Advise the end-users on interior design factors such as space planning, layout, utilization of furnishings and color coordination, in addition to providing inputs and alternatives. 
• Work closely with project management team, other disciplines and service providers in regards to all aspects of interior design to ensure the highest quality finishes are met and all resources are used efficiently to meet the projects’ requirements within the agreed budget and time constraints. 
• Work with specialists in technical areas concerned with fire, hydraulics, and mechanical, electrical and structural. IT/AV design, making sure that industry regulations are met and that the proposed items are appropriately integrated in the interior spaces. 
• Keep abreast of the latest interior designing techniques, principles and all relevant technologies and solutions. 
• Assist in assembling and maintaining of projects’ interior design scope of work standards and procedures.
