Job Description:

Marine Operation in Kuwait.

1. Takes complete charge of tug engines and all tug machinery and equipment.

2. Operates and monitors machinery/equipment performance, diagnoses faults and carries out repairs as required on hoard the tug. Participates in oil pollution, salvage and fire fighting.

3. Performs a variety of highly skilled maintenance, overhaul and installation work on all types of machinery and equipment.

4. Ensures that assigned duties are carried out to the required standard, checks and investigates any delays.

5. Takes charge and ensures that procedures are followed when preparing engine-room for standby position. Ensures and/or participates in checking lube oil levels.

6. Controls and follows established steps in starting up the highly sophisticated machinery and equipment of tug. Ensures the smooth operations before moving control handle to wheel house control.

7.Monitors machinery and equipment performance and carries out the necessary adjustments in order to maintain the smooth running of such equipment. This involves recording equipment performance and variations with own remarks in the daily engine-room log book. Advises Tug master of major failures and incidents in engine-room which would lead to stopping of operations.

8. Diagnoses faults and carries out repairs to machinery and equipment on board the tug. This mainly involves repairs required to be made whilst offshore and dry docking.

9. Participates in the oil pollution control activities and lire drills; operates their equipment, controls use of dispersant and ensure best results are achieved.
10. Replenishes and ensures availability of fuel oil, foam, fresh water, dispersant chemicals at all times for own use and provision to Sea Island and ships.
11. Ensures that safety and fire regulations are strictly adhered to. Accompanies safety and fire personnel during their inspection rounds, takes notes of their observations and implements as necessary.

12. Participates in fighting of fires and salvage on ships, terminals as well as on board tug by ensuring and monitoring proper operation of engine driven fire pumps and/or emergency fire pump, controls the water/foam ratio for such an operation.

13. Performs other related duties such as training newly engaged tug personnel, proceeding on foreign-going voyages as and when required and ensuring cleanliness and tidiness of the engine-room.

14. Carries out highly skilled maintenance, overhaul repair work on various types of machinery and equipment.

15. Strips, cleans and inspects machinery and equipment, diagnoses problems, repairs or replaces defective parts as necessary. Re-assembles, re-aligns and tests accordingly when servicing is completed.

16. Carries out major overhauling of marine equipment. Inspects, diagnoses faults and renews defective parts as necessary. Undertakes propeller shaft alignments  with main engines.

17. Participates in any operation and fire drills, fire -fighting, salvage, rescue and pollution control operations within Kuwaiti territorial waters.

18. Maintains and handles the air-conditioning system.

19. Operates and maintains Tugs/Workboat Crane.

20. Carry out general cleaning duties, painting of engine room spaces and machinery."

21. To act as general purpose crew as and when required by the Tug Master/Supervisor.

22. Shall carry all the functions & responsibilities for the Marine Mechanic.

Job Title: Chief Engineer
 
Qualification:   BE.B. Tech /  Diploma / Degree

Experience:  

1. Fifteen (15) years' experience in the maintenance of similar facilities, to those specified in the Technical Specification, with the last four (4) years as chief engineer foreign going.

2.Chief Engineer foreign going.

 3.Thorough understanding of program scheduling techniques.

4.Good Knowledge in maintenance of equipment.

5.Good Knowledge of operating all equipment and tools specified in the Contract.

6.Good Knowledge of mechanical projects work, workshop practice and facilities.

7.Fluent in reading, writing and speaking English. Be able to complete assigned jobs with no direct supervision.

Job Description:

Marine Operation in Kuwait.

1.Administers requisitions for maintenance, supplies, special tools, plant and the like.

2.Directs the work of personnel in his charge.

3.Maintains equipment history and performance trending records.

4.Prepares and submits daily report to Company's Engineers.

5.Compiles Equipment Failure Reports and submits to the Company Engineers.

6.Prepares the daily, monthly maintenance sheet for all machinery including electrical and instrumentation.

7.Coordinates work functions of the Contractor's personnel in his area of responsibility including all disciplines. Ensures quality of work and supervision.

8.Ensures the implementation of the routine/preventive/breakdown/shutdown maintenance and surveys program by the Contractor's personnel to meet the maintenance goals.

9.Attends to all major overhauls and repairs.

10.Organizes in liaison with the Superintendent's Representative earliest completion of any major breakdowns in the field and to implement maintenance priorities to comply with Company requirements.
11.Ensures personnel's adherence to safe working and that Company's fire and safety regulations are strictly adhered to the times.

12.Continually reviews updated maintenance requirements/procedures.

13.Provides technical support to the operational functions.

14.Advises on improvements that can be made to plant and equipment to increase availability and maintainability.

15.Ensures the availability of personnel, tool and test equipment at all times as specified.

16.Assist in fire fighting, oil pollution control activities and salvage operations as and when necessary.

17.Works on and repairs high voltage diesel engine and any other associated electrical works.

18.Assists in the diagnosis of mechanical/electrical problems.

19.Maintains and services the batteries.

20.Performs electrical work such as cutting, bending and installing conduit, modifying circuits and the like.

21.Ensures general housekeeping in the Machinery Spaces.

22.Dismantles overhauls, re-assembles and aligns the motors of different sizes and horsepower in the field.

23.Repairs and restores any components requiring skilled fitting.

24.Performs and/or directs maintenance on mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and electronic instruments and control system, including microprocessor based systems PLC's/ General Monitor and protection system.

25.Diagnoses problems or potential problems with control systems — electrical, pneumatic and electronic.

26.Performs preventive maintenance on instrument control systems and protective switches.

27.Reports the events and the activities to the concerned supervisor in terms of manpower/spares utilized.

28.Performs operations/maintenance function in Electrical/Instrument Installation on the Marine Crafts, Tug and SPMs, if requested by the Superintendent.

29.Participate in any operation and fire drills, fire fighting, salvage rescue and pollution control operations within Kuwaiti territorial waters.
 
Liaison :

i. Liaises with Company Engineers on daily basis and as required for coordination of maintenance programmers.

ii.Liaise with other Company maintenance personnel and Company contractors concerning equipment and item of common interest within their broad Scope of Work, and as directed by the Company engineers.

iii Coordinates with operations for routine matters.

Job Title: Asst. Tug Master

Qualification:  
1.Education and Training : 2nd Mate Class 3 Foreign Going Certificate (valid)
2. Holding a valid GMDSS and ECDIS certificates.

Experience:  
4 years related experience (ASD Tugs), including minimum 4 years as Tug Master.
Age not to exceed forty five (45) years. MUST KNOW HOW TO HANDEL AND OPERATE (  ASD (Azimuth Stern Drive) Harbor Tugs)

Age not to exceed forty five (45) years. MUST KNOW HOW TO HANDEL AND OPERATE (  ASD (Azimuth Stern Drive) Harbour Tugs )

Job Description :

Marine Operation in Kuwait.

1. Master of the vessel, directs and supervises the activities of all personnel on board.
2. Commands, operates and navigates the vessel on all operations during assigned period to cover all on-shore and offshore facilities / areas. This includes berthing and unearthing operations, double banking /STS, handling SBM Hawsers and Hoses, towing of vessels / barges / hoses / fenders, supplying vessels at anchor in roads and transporting people, equipment, water and fuel, back-flushing operations, etc. 
3. Carries out duties related to salvage of ships and craft, search & rescue operation, fire fighting and oil pollution combating, surveillance and patrolling of the sea area and report all findings. 
4. Commands the vessel on journeys anywhere within the Kuwaiti Territorial waters. Assists, as a navigating officer and a watch keeper when the vessel is on journeys outside the Kuwaiti Territorial waters.
5. Ensures safety of the vessel, crew and Equipment. 
6. Follow and implement Company Procedures, International marine rules and regulations. 
7. Perform first aid treatment as required.                                         
8. Carries out daily checks on the Tug to ensure that the fire fighting and emergency tools and equipment on board are in good working condition and store stock on board i.e. material, fuel, fresh water, foam and dispersant and the like are kept to the required level prior to any operation and the execution of the same i.e., chipping, painting, greasing to deck equipment, splicing and repairs to fenders and the like and ensures all defects are reported and remedial actions have been taken. 
9. Carry out training of staff, drills and admin work such as record keeping, onboard certificates / documents, submit technical and incident reports, repair lists, Muster list, supply inventories and Finalize work / maintenance requests, work permits, etc. 
10. Liaise with Marine for preparation of vessel for surveys and inspections to ensure that validity of all vessel certificates is maintained 
11. Liaise with DPA (Designated Person Ashore) and Snr. PFSO for relevant issues. 
12. Ensures that the fire Fighting, lifesaving and emergency tools and equipment on board are maintained in good working condition 
13. May be assigned to any other boat as in-charge whenever required 
14. Shall carry all the functions & responsibilities for the Assistant Tug Master as required.
15. Assumes responsibility for good housekeeping and cleanliness of the tug inside and outside.
