Location: Offshore (Qatar)

    Education Qualification / Years of Experience: 

    Completion of secondary (12 years) education and followed by 2 years full time training on Mechanical Engineering (equivalent to City & Guilds).

    Good knowledge of English. 

    At least 8 years in the installation, maintenance, repair and troubleshooting of wide range of rotating and static equipment within the Petrochemical or Petroleum offshore industry. Of this period, at least three years should have been with compressors, turbines, power generators and mechanical seals, etc.

    Summary: 

    Carries out unsupervised, troubleshooting maintenance, repair and testing of rotating and static mechanical equipment including pumps, compressors, gas turbines and diesel engines on Production Platforms. Includes changing oils, cleaning strainers and filters, greasing and general overhaul of equipment. Repair and/or replace parts found to be defective, reassembles overhauled equipment.

    Carries out preventive and corrective maintenance on desalination units, vessels, exchangers, hydro cyclones, cranes, hoists and escape capsules at production stations

    Carries out skilled preventive and corrective maintenance and repairs on equipment, identified through regular predictive checks or breakdown of equipment and failure of systems. Carries out alignment and assists in start up, carries out test run and performance test. 

    Carries out safety & emergency equipment preventive and corrective checks & maintenance.

    Assist the Mechanical Engineer to organise, execute predictive maintenance & preventive checks and tests on running equipment and machinery such as compressors, pumps, turbines and other engines according to schedules, checks lists and specific equipment requirements and reports the jobs back to the Mechanical Engineer (Offshore) on a daily basis.

    Involved in material management including identifying ordering, inventorying and maintaining proper storage of spares.

    Maintains records of all equipment related, drawings, manuals and parameters for reference.

    Interpret P&IDs and equipment related drawings.

    Involved in diagnostic and problem solving of failures.

    Provides work directions and guidance to general technicians, mechanical technicians and contractors.

    Familiar with Permit to work and maintenance management system.

    Trains and gives necessary coaching to PCP technicians and provides on the job training to Nationals

    Aware of safety and emergency procedures.
