- The Production Planning Manager is responsible for planning, scheduling, and expediting to ensure timely production and delivery of customer orders.
- Major Duties and Responsibilities Ensures that the flow of materials, work force resources, floor space and equipment are adequate to meet a fast paced production schedule. Creates and maintain production schedules which balances completed fabrication cycles to target levels, as well as issues steady production work orders to ensure inventory is available for delivery dates.
- Responsible for interfacing between Production and Customer Service to ensure sales order requirements are fulfilled. Responsible to manage all aspects of materials flow and to maintain control and accuracy over all goods inventories, including all transactions, procurement, planning, scheduling, cost, warehouse, receiving, and delivery to ensure that customer orders are fulfilled on time.
- This position is also responsible to develop and manage all supplier relationships. Complete status reports for production progress, work in process, and raw material inventory. Interacts with shop floor management on a daily basis to ensure optimum manufacturing efficiency.
- Desired Skills & Experience Engineering or Industrial Engineering is a plus 6-10 years experience ideally in heavy plate work steel fabrication. Must have excellent time management and organization skills and the ability to respond quickly to changes in the production schedule.
- Effective communication and team management skills. Computer skills are necessary to the job and knowledge of Manufacturing Resource Planning (MRP) is essential to manufacturing planning.
- Excellent process improvement experience, including the utilization of continuous improvement tools/technologies e.g. LEAN, Six Sigma etc. Understanding of ERP system and Microsoft Office products.
