Position - Planning Head

Location - Dubai

Responsibilities and Duties

• Preparing construction program including resource loading and assigning BOQ items to program activities.
• Update / Revise from time to time and in accordance to projects requirement the program to suit site progress condition.
• Allocate resources in line with the progress requirements and as per instruction of Operations Manager.
• Prepare monthly cost reports to management including proof of each project status as actual VS programmed.
• Supervising cost and scheduling activities at project locations; supports contract administration activities.
• Defining project / project area needs for schedule development, maintenance and monitoring in accordance with company procedures and client contract requirements.
• Supervising the competent performance of schedule development, maintenance, monitoring and analysis activities and timely issue of reports.
• Monitoring project activities against contract scope of work.
• Responsible for specifying the timing of the contract. This can be a major responsibility when penalty clauses for late completion are written into project contracts.
• Develop the most appropriate method and sequence of construction operations for a particular project, in conjunction with the site/Project manager.
• Establish and manage effectively a planning and progress control system in order to support the Project Manager's decision-making process and allow him to complete the project according to the internal baselines and in compliance with the contractual dates and requirements. Ensure any deviation from plan in promptly spotted and analyzed, final time impact is estimated and the effect of corrective actions taken is monitored.
• Selecting the appropriate techniques and sequence of events for a particular project.
• Using specialist planning computer software; epically Primavera P3.
• Monitoring progress throughout the construction process and comparing this with the projected schedule of work.
• Liaising with the site agent and surveyor throughout the process, making adjustments to projects as necessary.
• Providing advice and support on the development of specific systems. 
• Identify critical path.
• Integrate schedules from Managering, architects, contractors, subcontractors and owners to create a master program.
• Create attractive and fully customizable graphs such as Histograms and S- Curves.
• Quickly plan for the upcoming day, week, and month to ensure everyone knows what they are responsible for.
• Control budgets, changes and estimates at completion to ensure a successful project delivery.
• Allocate resources accurately.
• Communicate status to Project Managers, Contract Manager and General Manager as well.
• Coordinate labor, material, equipment and contractors to ensure on schedule, on budget completion.
