Position Requirements

    The candidate will be responsible for the build, configuration, administration, and troubleshooting of storage environment in multiple data centers that support Digital storage infrastructure. Must be able to show initiative and teamwork to resolve projects spanning many disciplines, teams, and data environments. This engineer will be a system administrator for our customers Storage Area Network (SAN) platforms and will routinely work with vendors, project managers, system administrators, database administrators, application developers and end users in order to maintain and improve the performance of our servers, databases and applications

    Required Skills and Education:

    Must be experienced in troubleshooting of complex multi-vendor and geographically separated storage environments.
    5+ years in-depth experience working with Storage and Storage related fields
    Technical product experience in the following
    Brocade FC/VDX, Cisco Fabric switches
    HDS, Netapp, Sun/Oracle, and EMC storage
    Extensive build experience with EMC (VMAX, Symmetrix, VNX, etc.), NetApp & Hitachi ( AMS/HUS/HCP) storage technology
    Must have Expert knowledge of basic RAID, storage tiering, storage architecture concepts, storage virtualization, local and datacenter replication practices, and storage best practices
    Must have experience in architecting, administrating, and troubleshooting Brocade Fabrics: zoning, aliasing, QoS, FC routing, and virtual fabrics. (FC to Ethernet bridging experience a plus)
    Must have experience in architecting, administration, configuration, and performance troubleshooting of HDS and Netapp storage solutions primarily, additional storage vendor experience is a plus
    Experience with NetApp vFilers, IP Spaces, VIFs highly preferred
    Experience with NetApp 8.1x or 8.2 Cluster Mode highly preferred
    Experience with in-system and external replication of storage using HDS or Netapp software.
    Experience with planning and implementing storage migrations for datacenter moves
    Understanding of the fiber channel protocols and storage networking, experience with long distance SAN networking a plus.
    Expert understanding of how server behaviors and IO load patterns affect storage (LUN Q-Depth, multipathing, application IO size, etc ).
    High level of knowledge regarding setup, configuration, and administration with Hitachi Command Suite software. (Device Manager, Tiered storage manager, Tuning Manager, HUR)
    Basic Unix and/or Windows administration understanding and skills, (VI, file manipulation, Active Directory, UNIX and Windows based file permissions).
    Intermediate understanding of networking required: DNS, netmasks, IP routing, NIS, AD
    Experience with storage design and configuration in VMware, Xen, Oracle, SAS, ETL, SQL, and Oracle RAC environments
    Must be thoroughly proficient in the following protocols/technologies:
    FC, SCSI, ISCSI, NFS, CIFS, SAS (FCoE not required but a plus), fiber channel trunking
      Required Skills and Education:

      Bachelor Degree (EE, CS, etc.)
      o Candidates without a Bachelors degree will NOT be considered
      Desired Certifications/Key Experience:
      o Applicable Brocade, Cisco, EMC, NetApp & HDS SAN Training & Certifications Desired
