Role Purpose:
To provide and ensure the effective delivery of production within the section, ensuring materials are available and monitored and stored correctly to avoid delay to the project.
Objectives :
• To construct and deliver the allocated section of work within a specified timeframe with correctly allocated resources
• To understand the technical requirements of the work and be able to explain the same to others
• Ensure safety compliance and promote safe working practices
• Monitor Roads activity on site to prescribed quality standards.
• To focus on waste reduction.
• Calculate area, volume, quantities, weights and measures for materials required at site
Key Responsibilities
• Organise and supervise material plant and labour to ensure there availability when required. Inform the Line Manager well in advance if any of these resources are unavailable.
• Maintain discipline, understand and ensure that site rules are implemented and adhered to.
• Conduct daily safety inspections of the allocated section of work and immediately implement any improvements that may be required, including the erection of safety signage and scaffolding.
• Ensure all personnel have the correct and serviceable PPE and that they are using it correctly.
• Ensure guards are fitted to plant, machinery and power/small tools and that all are serviceable.
• Ensure all operatives using or operating plant, machinery or power/small tools have received relevant training and where necessary, have documentation to verify.
• Maintain high standards of housekeeping on site
• Supervise Chargehands of specific trades, Tradesman,Labourers.
• Conduct tool box talks for Operatives, monitor and correct them where required.
• Employ ‘best practice’ methods, understand and implement KHANSAHEB Quality Standards
• Supervise correct and safe deployment of any plant and equipment allocated to the area and ensure proper utilisation.
• Surpervise subcontracts personnel where appropriate
Candidate Summary :
• Diploma in Engineering (Civil)/ITI
• 8-10 years of experience in Construction industry out of which the last 3 year should have functioned in the similar capacity
• Good Communication and written skills (English spoken and written)
• Able to manage a team
• Waste reduction
• Competent in problem solving
• Numerate and accurate.
