Marketing Head in Lagos, Nigeria

    Experience : 15+ years relevant experience in Chemical/FMCG Industry.

    - Exposure to various ingredients and chemical to various industries that include FMCG, Food, Paint, Pharmaceuticals, Breweries, Homecare, Personal Care & Cosmetics, Confectionaries, PVC Plastic, Printing Ink, etc industries.

    - Experience of dealing with multi brand/product Sales & Marketing and Trading portfolio preferably at national level in a big Company with proven track record.

    - Experience of developing sales strategies, new markets, distribution network, setting up new outlets, etc.

    - Corporate work exposure is preferred. Cross-Functional Leadership experience is an advantage.

    - Good experience of working in an ERP environment like SAP, Mfg-Pro, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics systems.

    Job Specification:

    Scope : Overall accountability of managing Sales & Marketing and Trading Function including Strategy Making, Investment Decisions, Budgeting, P & L Responsibility, Resource and Infra-Structure Management, Goals/Targets Setting, Functional Leadership and Administration, Business Reviews, Cost Control, etc.

    - Requires least supervision.

    - Includes lead managerial roles.

    Job Specific Comments : Managing Sales & Marketing organization to ensure achieving targeted sales (both volume and value), market share and profitability budgets for entire product/brand portfolio (both in-house and trading products).

    - Ensuring Planning and executing new initiatives and strategies for expanding products market and growth and enhancing distribution width and depth.

    - Exploring and identifying innovative sales & marketing channels /avenues/ opportunities for products viz OEM Business Development, Home to Home, Go Slow channels, etc and strategizing the mechanism to make them work.

    - Strengthening existing dealer and distribution network and its augmentation.

    - Appointing channel partners (distributors and wholesalers) and its effective management.

    - Driving the pricing structure basis market inputs, including analyzing market intelligence on competition, trade, customer expectations, product features, etc and making the strategy.

    - Custodian of the organization's New Product Development process.

    - Launching new products and developing new sales opportunities.

    - Strategizing and continuous working towards Brand Building & Brand Development through proper deployment of all components of the Marketing Mix.

    - Leading the team on all Above The Line and Below The Line initiatives for the brands, in conjunction with Communication, Media, Advertising & PR agencies.

    - Leading the mass Media Planning & Execution for all campaigns, in partnership with media agencies & other stake holders in the media landscape.

    - Leading Market & Consumer Research efforts with the objective of unearthing trends, insights & profitable avenues of growth for the organization's portfolio.

    - Developing and implementing annual marketing plan in collaboration with sales plans.

    - Designing and implementing sales promotions and market activation programs with robust control / tracking mechanisms alongwith metrics to measure effectiveness of the program.

    - Coordination with manufacturing and supply chain function on availability and delivery of products to ensure product availability.

    - Dealing with commercial activities pertaining to sales and marketing functions viz credit policy, controlling bills/receivables, incentive schemes, etc.

    - Monitoring region-wise and product-wise sales, analyzing results and making strategies.

    - Sales & Marketing budgeting and goals/targets setting alongwith full P & L responsibility.

    - Building competent, effective, efficient and result oriented sales organization.

    - All relevant record keeping and reporting.

    - Implementation and maintenance of quality systems and continuous improvement methodologies with specific focus on growth, cost reduction and process improvements.

    - Any other job which may be assigned by the management from time to time.

    Education & Skills : MBA (Marketing) from any University/ Business School/Institute of repute.
