Key Tasks:
Proven experience in Health, Safety and Environmental protection, considerable time of which in a senior supervisory or managerial position.
Membership of a relevant Institution (e.g IOSH).
Advanced level HSE qualification e.g. MSc, NEBOSH Diploma.
a)Developing and facilitating QHSE Governance to engage operational management in the development and deployment of QHSE excellence
b)To influence senior management in all functional area to achieve improvements in safety culture c) Working with operational management to provide professional support and guidance and enable them to deliver QHSE through the line.
d) Ensure that all work is carried out in accordance with the Company Management System Procedures.
e) Preparation of annual health, safety and environmental plans which set performance objectives and targets.
f) Be fully conversant with existing and new statutory legislation, regulations and codes of practice affecting operations in all companys and business activities.
g) To establish and manage systems for the measurement and reporting of safety climate and culture, including development of plans to address any identified deficiencies
h) Promote safety campaigns and systems of work.
i) Oversee and direct the activities of the QHSE in support of the business.
j) Investigating the reporting of all incidents/accidents in liaison with relevant personnel, occurring on any work location. Advise Senior Management of any deficiencies or recommend remedial actions that may result from an investigation. k) Monitor the effectiveness of the accident/incident procedure and contribute to the investigation process to ensure root causes are established and appropriate actions are identified and closed out.
l)Developing the competence of personnel in health and safety through training and support
m) Recommend HSE Minimum Standards for all operations and projects
n)Monitor changes in legislation, Codes of Practice and Industry Standards, guidance and initiatives.
o) Recommend appropriate changes to the Combined Management System and Improvement Programmes to ensure continued compliance and promote continuous improvement.
p) Coordinate and support Operations in relation to QHSE functions, liaising regularly within country teams.
q) Maintain the Quality Management System & Food Safety System ensuring internal, external audits are planned, completed, recorded and actions closed out in a timely manner to ISO 9001 & 22000 Standards.
r) In addition to the duties and responsibilities listed, the position holder is required to perform other duties as may arise in connection with successful operation or assigned by Plant/Managing Directors.

Ability to take multiple/complicated external requirements and regulations and translate these into simple fit-for-purpose solutions.
Politically aware ability to use diplomacy/influence/directness to achieve objectives.
