Position: Senior Tableau Developer

Skills 

• Design, develop, test and deploy new Tableau dashboards. 
• Research source data and design queries that bring data into Tableau. 
• Interact with and present to clients throughout the development process. 
• Contribute to and help define team best practices around report development, testing, access management, and report refresh scheduling. 
• Creation/enhancement of reports and dashboards. 
• Use of calculated variables. 
• Use of custom formatting. 
• Report scheduling, including event-based triggers. 
• Automation of refreshes and delivery. 

• Proficient in BI tool administration functions including: 
• Management of user security/access 
• Data mapping/catalog changes (semantic layer) 
• Archive and purge activities 
• Performance tuning assessment and implementation 
• Other tool maintenance, including installation of patches 
• Familiar with data warehousing concepts and constructs, including star schema data models to be able to recommend aggregated data structures or calculated data elements in order to optimize report/dashboard performance. 

Technical Skills 

• Having good understanding of Tableau architecture, design, development and end user experience. 
• Extensive experience in Tableau Desktop, Tableau Server and Tableau Reader in various versions of Tableau 8.x/9.x+ 
• Involved in reviewing business requirements and analyzing data sources form Excel/Oracle SQL Server/SAP BW for design, development, testing, and production rollover of reporting and analysis projects within Tableau Desktop. 
• Worked closely with business power users to create reports/dashboards using Tableau desktop. 
• Designed and developed various analytical reports from multiple data sources by blending data on a single worksheet in Tableau Desktop. 

• Create Prompts, Calculated Fields, customize Calculations, Conditions and Filter (Local, Global) for various analytical reports and dashboards. 
• Create and modify Interactive Dashboards and Creating guided navigation links within Interactive Dashboards.Effectively used data blending, filters, actions, Hierarchies feature in tableau. 
• Extensive knowledge in various reporting objects like Facts, Attributes, Hierarchies, Transformations, filters, prompts, Calculated fields, Sets, Groups, Parameters etc., in Tableau. 
• Worked on the development of Dashboard reports for the Key Performance Indicators for the top management. 
• Building, publishing customized interactive reports and dashboards, report scheduling using Tableau server. 

• Administer user, user groups, and scheduled instances for reports in Tableau. 
• Strong understanding of Data warehouse concepts, ETL, Star Schema, Snowflake, data modeling experience 
• Experience with Tableau Server installations, configuration, and administration 
• Strong technical background with complete understanding of data warehouse modeling, architectures, OLAP, OLTP data sets, etc. 
• Experience joining and blending multiple data sources and file formats 
• Familiar with accessing data stored on Big Data platforms (e.g. Hadoop, NOSQL) for data analysis and presentation purposes. 
• Familiarity with performance tuning SQL, including use of explains plans, partitions, hints etc. 

• Proficient in use of SQL (Oracle DB 11g / 12c) 
• User End - Tableau Desktop Professional 9.3 
• Front End - Tableau 9.3 
• Batch scripts (Native) / Windows Powershell (Advanced) scripts to carry out the data refresh in Tableau 
• Data Refresh Incremental Vs Full Refresh 
• Control^M Batch Scheduler 
• Familiar with Tableau upgrade to version 10.x from existing version 9.X
