HSE Engineer / HSE Manager for Oman

  • Ensure a safe work environment for all project employees, sub-contractors, and visitors.
  • Provide HSE support and direction to all site personnel.
  • Participate and assist in the investigation of incidents to determine cause.
  • Establish what is required to eliminate any possible reoccurrence an incident in the future.
  • Routinely monitor the workforce for unsafe behaviors and coach employees on the correct behaviors when observed.
  • Be able to be in the field with the workforce 80% of the day or per Corporate HSE Manager
  • Ensure that the following material is available on site, HSE Manual, the applicable OH&S legislation and regulations, site safety inspection forms, observation forms, toolbox sign in sheer and equipment inspections.
  • Ensure that incident reports are sent to the Corporate HSE Manager as soon as possible.
  • Ensure that safety meetings are held on a regular basis. These will be daily or depending on the expectations of the client and the expectations of the Corporate HSE Manager.
  • Ensure that inspections are performed per inspection schedule.
  • Communicate any significant issues or concerns with the Corporate HSE Manager for direction.
  • Communicate and assist workers to ensure that all safety expectations are met.
  • Manage client expectations and negotiate toward successful and positive results when issues arise.
  • Facilitate ongoing communications with the client and ensure responsiveness to issues/requests.
  • Provide direction and support to ensure compliance with company established policies and procedures; as well as those outlined by clients.
  • Indirectly supervise the work and safety practices of various craftsmen in an industrial setting.
  • Determine training needs of craft personnel and assist them in obtaining that training.
  • Monitor crew fatigue.
  • Follow oral and written directions.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor as needed
Required Candidate profile
  • Graduate in Science (B.Sc.) or Degree or Diploma in Chemical Engineering.
  • Diploma in Industrial Safety is MUST.
  • Professional qualifications in NEBOSH, IOSH will be given more preference.
  • Proven relevant experience of around 10-20 years in Chemical / Petro chemical/Fertilizer industries (Gulf experience will have more preference)
  • Computer literacy is must - Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and operation of digital cameras.
  • Strong in written and verbal communication skills in English language.
