Roller Operator
Roles and Responsibilities
Road Roller Operators operate power-driven rollers to prepare surfaces for roads, runways and car parks.
1) Drives heavy rolling machine to compact earth fills, subgrades, flexible base, and bituminous surface to grade specifications preparatory to construction of highways, streets, and runways: Moves levers, depresses pedals, turns handwheels, and pushes throttle to control and guide machine.
2) Drives machine in successive overlapping passes over surface to be compacted.
3) Determines speed and direction of machine, based on knowledge of compressibility of material under changing temperatures, so that ridges are not formed by excessive pressure.
4) Pushes hand roller and pounds surfaces, using hand tamp, or guides portable power roller over areas not accessible to road roller.
5) May be designated according to surface rolled as Road-Roller Operator, Hot Mix; Subgrade-Roller Operator; or according to source of power used as Diesel-Roller Operator; Gas-Roller Operator.
Desired Candidate Profile
Having 4 -5 years GCC Experience in the same field.
Graduate/ Under Graduate can apply.

• Familiar with health and safety regulations associated with
confined space entry into a hazardous environment and
handling and disposal of hydrocarbon material and other
contaminated wastes.
• Be suitably skilled and experience in the methods of
desludging and cleaning of the tanks.
• Having full understanding to operate breathing apparatus
system and procedures.
• Can perform inspections and testing of breathing apparatus
and breathing air compressors.
• Basic knowledge for Service and repair breathing apparatus
sets, breathing air compressors and associated equipment as
needed.
• Experience working in a physically demanding environment,
confined spaces and working at heights.
• Should be a trained and certified of using SCBA and other
fresh air equipment.
• Ensures that assigned tasks are performed safely with the
highest level of quality.
• Effectively communicate with front line Supervisors on area
such as safety, quality and integrity.

• Familiar to the desludging and cleaning procedure of the tanks.
• Develop, implement, and maintain procedures for the servicing
and maintenance of BA apparatus and gas detection equipment.
Ensuring that equipment maintenance is carried out in
accordance with company procedures, quality requirements and
manufacturers guidelines.
• Be certified and competent of using BA equipment and have a
general mechanical knowledge of the operation of the
equipment.
• Have knowledge of appropriate emergency rescue procedure for
removing of personnel inside the tank in case of any emergency.
• Have knowledge of handling and safe use of chemical/detergent
used for final cleaning of the hydrocarbon tank.
• Skills to coordinate tasks according to priorities and plans.
• Produce schedules and monitor attendance of crew.
• Has knowledge to allocate general and daily responsibilities.
• Supervise and train workers and trades people.
• Guarantee all safety precautions and quality standards are met.
• Supervise and monitor the use of BA apparatus and gas
detection equipment.
• Skills to resolve problems when they arise related to the
