GAS OPERATION OPPORTUNITIES
Qatar Petroleum, The National Oil Company of the State of Qatar have the following vacancies in their Gas Operations Divisions.

Operators I
Knowledge, Skills & Experience:
-HSC / ITI in Mechanical / Chemical or B.Sc in Chemistry with minimum 4 to 8 years experience in Production and Process Operations; Preferably in an offshore environment.
-Computer Literate.
Primary Purpose of the Job:
-Carries out various duties as assigned by the Senior Operator.
-Involves starting up the station by lining up separators, Wells to Manifolds, starting turbine driven pumps, gas compressors, preparing chemicals for oil treatment and starting up the glycol dehydration system, in accordance with procedures. Carries out pigging operations, takes various readings and tests on gas and oil products as directed.
-Ensures at all times that safety equipment is worn and all safety rules and regulations are adhered to.
Principal Accountabilities:
-Participates in the start-up of the station by lining up oil production separator banks, and shifts wells smoothly from one bank to another as directed. Lines up lube oil and seal oil systems, checking all levels and pressures are in the correct sequence. Monitors all instruments during start-up procedure and adjusts temperatures, pressures and level of the system on instruction from Field Production Supervisor & Senior Operator.
-Prepares the start-up sequence for crude transfer motor driven pumps, by checking the system and ensuring oil and water levels are adequate to start the system. Monitors pump instruments on a regular basis.
-Assists as required, in unloading the supply boat ensuring that loads are secured safety according to rigging procedures. Controls the movement of diesel water, chemicals, glycol to their respective storage tanks, keeping appropriate records of amounts transferred and the daily tank levels.
-Prepares chemicals (demulsifiers and de-scaling agent) for oil treatment injection at specified rates. Regularly checks the chemical tank level and pump performance, advising of abnormalities. Line up the test separator with specific wells to be tested according to procedures. Carries out tests on gas oil offtake, obtaining the specific gravity of gas and forwarding results of the senior Operator.
-Participates in the start up of the main gas compressor. Involves draining condensate from gas lines, checking depressurizing valves are in the correct sequence, operating necessary block valves and resetting the anti-surge valve according to procedures. Lines up lube oil and seal gas systems, checking all levels and pressures are in the correct sequence. Monitors all instruments during start up procedure and adjusts temperatures, pressures and levels of the system, as directed.
-Carries out the start-up and shutdown sequence for the glycol dehydration system, including maintaining lube oil pressures to the pumps, ensuring venting and priming of pumps have been carried out, checking glycol pump discharge pressure is set accordingly and flow rates adjusted to required quantity.
-Takes various readings at different points of the process line and at regular intervals to calculate daily, the amount of oil produced, Gas consumed, flared and exported and carries out tests on specific gravity and moisture contents of exported gas as advised by General Operator.
-Carries out pigging operations, involves preparing the correct size pigs.
Pressure up the launcher for pigging operations, ensures all appropriate safety regulations are adhered to and that appropriate breathing apparatus and safety equipment is worn, depressuring the launcher or receiver and purging with nitrogen.
-Participate in the start-up and shutdown of auxiliary equipment. such as tempered water and sea water cooling pumps, Water maker, instrument air compressors and the chlorine unit. Ensures the various operating sequences are followed, adjusting water, flow, temperatures and pressures, lines up coolers, diverting water into potable water tanks, starting and adjusting the chemical injection systems depending on the unit being operated.
-Assists as required. in unloading the supply boot ensuring that loads are secured safety according to rigging procedures. Controls the transfer of diesel water, chemicals, glycol to their respective storage tanks, keeping appropriate records of amounts transferred and the daily tank levels.
-Carries out other similar or related duties, such as the routine flushing and greasing of valves, opening and closing wells, purging, flushing and gas freeing operations on separators and pipelines and injecting anti-corrosion chemicals to gas and liquid export lines.

General Operators

-Must have basic Computer literacy.
-Well conversant with computer based control systems.
Primary Purpose of the Job:
To operate, control and participate, as instructed by the Senior Operator or Field Production Supervisor in the process and utilities operational areas to ensure safe and efficient running, start-up and shutdown of plant including utilities.
Principal Accountabilities
-Requires working in the CCR under the guidance of Senior Operator. Monitors and controls the process and utilities systems through the existing control system and system upgrades if any in the CCR, taking corrective action as required in the absence of the Senior Operator. Also, maintains production levels and quality as directed.
-Checks Preparation / reinstatement supplementary work permit and carry out isolation / over rides of the system. Carries out checking stock levels and prepares stock inventory of chemical in use and maintains filing system in the control room. Ensures corporation safety rules and regulations are adhered to.
-Keeps / updates record in station log book as per established procedure. Report any abnormal situation, plant up sets to the Field Production Supervisor. Exercises discretion in deciding how to carry out work or to deal with abnormal or emergency situations requiring immediate action in the absence of the Senior Operator.
-Work is mainly varied and carried out according to established procedures and hydrocarbon industry standards. Completed work is spot-checked on an infrequent basis by the Senior Operator or Field Production Supervisor.
-Incumbent will be required to carry out job-related special projects by the Field Production Supervisor. Raising and keeping maintenance records of notification for any plant / equipment abnormality through SAP system.
-Responsible for maintaining and keeping vigilance on radio communication.
