Financial Controller for The PNG Balsa Company Limited, Papua New Guinea

    Reporting directly to the Managing Director , the Financial Controller will be responsible for planning, managing, monitoring and evaluating the finance, accounting, and procurement departments of The PNG Balsa Company and formulating the activities of the Finance Division. This will include all aspects of accounting and financial records management, asset management, cost and financial operations management, procurement, financial/audit/control, budget preparation and control, investment planning, financial stability, liquidity and cost recovery. He /she will serve as a member of Senior Management to design administrative, accounting, procurement, warehousing, and control systems and processes, including management of assets and liabilities and staff development.

    Duties & Responsibilities
    1.Report to the Managing Director on financial and administrative matters.
    2.Oversee the day to day work of the Finance Division, provide corporate leadership in Financial and Administrative management as a member of the Senior Management Group and help to set the financial strategies and objectives for the company.
    3.If relevant, modify policies and procedures for Financial Management, Accounting, Asset Management, Budgeting and Control and the implementation those policies and procedures approved by the Board.
    4.Participate in developing and implementing the corporate business strategy.
    5.Liaise with the other entities abroad and ensure reporting on time . 
    6.Develop short, medium, and long-term cost/revenue projections and depreciation programs for The PNG Balsa Cos facilities in accordance with the industry standards.
    7.Improve the cost management and control systems and design new solutions when appropriated.
    8.Plan and determine organizational priorities and establish key activities for achieving The PNG Balsa companys targets for financial, budgetary and performance, working to ensure that the staff of the Administration and Financial Division has the resources to perform the required activities and meet administrative and financial objectives and targets.
    9.Propose policy recommendations and suggest standard operating procedures regarding management, supervision, motivation, training, recruitment and selection for Financial Division staff.
    10.Set an example that will nurture a superior organizational culture, values, and reputation with all staff, customers, suppliers, partners and regulatory/official bodies.
    11.Work with internal and external auditors in auditing Income Statements and Balance Sheets and presenting those financial reports to the Managing Director 
    12.Develop Financial Management Reports and Accounting and Reporting Systems to support Board-Level and Senior Management level decision making.
    13.Perform such additional duties as may be directed by the Managing Director
      1.Management accountant or Chartered Accountant with 3-5 years of hand on experience in middle management level.
      2.To manage a team of 10 to 12 employees in Accounts & Finance and Payroll and also IT Department.
      3.Should have a strong leadership and an excellent communication skill .
      4.Should be capable to lead and manage a team of motivated skilled employees in pursuit of stated objectives. 
      5.Should be able to reward employees showing initiative and energy and replace employees who show no willingness to play a serious part in winning our objectives
      6.Should be able to take hands on approach when and here necessary.
      7.As part of the top-management, should have an overall understanding of company processes and be active in helping the group to achieve our common objectives.
