Sr Software Engineer for Sharjah, UAE

JOB PURPOSE:
The role is that of a full stack Sr Developer who is proficient with all aspects of develops and comfortable working in development environments. This is a lead level position and requires technical leadership and high level of ownership in the prospective candidate. This role requires 80 percent of coding, 10 percent of analysis and design and 10 percent of code and architecture review. High levels of coding skills are critical to the success of this role. 

ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Designing and writing production-ready code and unit tests meeting both technical and business requirements
Optimizing and enhancing systems with high-volume data logging and processing needs, and high performance requirements
Contributing architecture input to new systems as well as rewriting legacy systems
Contributing domain-specific expertise by reviewing code, reviewing design docs, solving technical problems, and mentoring junior members of the team

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/QUALITIES:
Python Language proficiency 
Django Framework
Redis and Memcache
Postgres RDBMS
Travis CI
Front End JS Frameworks Angular and Backbone
HTML5 and CSS3 Skills
Experience with developing RESTfull APIs

EXPERIENCE:
5 + years of professional software development experience producing web-based systems
Proven track record in programming dynamic web applications that utilize a backend database
Solid understanding and practical experience using object-oriented design principles and patterns
Extensive development experience in Python
Experience using an RDBMS such as MySQL / postgres and comfortable enough with SQL to do both complex procedures, query optimization and quick debugging.
Understanding source code control and analysis tools, unit testing frameworks, and a continuous integration environment
MVC web framework (Django, RoR, Catalyst)
Experience in distributed/cloud computing is a plus (Hadoop, Cassandra, EC2, etc.)
