JOB SUMMARY:
The Centre Manager (CM) is tasked with the co-ordination of multiple project teams within a given business area of responsibility; ensuring the achievement of timely delivery of a quality product and overall profitability performance in line with the company objectives. 

KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE 
The person undertaking this role should have experience of:
Leading large, multi-disciplined teams on a variety of aerospace-related projects. 
Able to motivate and co-ordinate teams in order to facilitate the development of innovative yet cost-effective engineering solutions to complex technical problems. 
Responsibility for the co-ordination of resource utilisation across the business and for building robust team and customer relationships to facilitate business growth. 
Demonstrate strong leadership skill and the ability to enable effective communication in a pressurised team environment. 
Possess a proactive, can-do attitude that encourages and supports their peers, teams and management team. 

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES / ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Operating within a position of key business importance, the Centre Manager will be expected to undertake the following: 
 Responsible for management of the profitability (Contribution Margins) and utilisation (Applied Ratio) against agreed revenue targets.
 Responsible for timely response to RFQ/RFI requirements and ad hoc support to ongoing customer meetings etc. 
 Responsible for maintaining effective and value enhancing project control processes across the area of responsibility. 
 Responsible for the overall monitoring and reporting of project performance 
 Responsible for the effectiveness of the QMS and the adherence to same by the engineering community. 
 Deputising for the Head of UK OBU as and when required. 
 Engineering excellence and timely delivery of projects within their area. 
 Support to the Engineering Program Managers and Lead  Engineers across their respective projects. 
Structured, regular and effective internal and external communication, providing a key point of contact for customers and staff. 
Implements and supports LEAN, process, and other company initiatives. 
Assists in the development of effective business processes and metrics. 
Organises the teams in their areas through the deployment of the company organisational structure helping to define leadership roles and responsibilities to reporting staff. 
Provide a conduit for ensuring harmonisation of approach across the engineering business streams. 
Work with existing customers to identify potential new business areas and co-ordinate effort across the business to turn these into contracted work. 
Continually review the business stream performance in order to identify potential areas requiring additional support or opportunities to improve efficiency. 
Take responsibility for offload of work to our Global Organisation. 

PRINCIPAL INTERFACES 
The CM is required to maintain regular interfaces at all levels of Company operations to ensure business objectives are achieved and approved in accordance with Customers requirements. These may include: 
Head of UK Delivery 
Chief Engineer (where applicable) 
Direct Reports Engineering Program Managers, Lead Engineers 
Engineers within the project teams 
Human Resources Manager and Advisors 
Talent Acquisition Team 
Strategic Accounts Management Team 
Global Virtual Business Unit Team Quality and IT 
Customer interactions with these teams should portray a positive image of the QuEST Engineering capability and the wider QuEST organisation. Issues should be dealt with promptly but rationally and without the sacrifice of programme integrity/profitability. 

EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE, QUALIFICATIONS 
Experience in an Aerospace discipline, with leadership responsibility 
A strong understanding of technology trends and experience of managing programmes from a project and financial perspective. 
Qualifications - Degree, HND/HNC or equivalent.
