Quantity Surveyor (Kazakhstan)

JOB DESCRIPTION:
Position : Quantity Surveyor (Mechanical) who shall report to the Proposals Manager

A. Roles and Responsibilities:

1. Proposals Stage

Quantity Surveying-taking off quantities, Bills of quantities and contract documentation
Read and Interpret Detailed Drawings
1st Principles Pricing
Liason with Procurement Department & other Department to get inputs for Costing
Proposal Preparation along with detailed estimations.
Discuss & Present estimates to Proposals Manager
Keep a Track of of Market prices & fluctuation of rates
Develop Cost Codes

2. Execution Stage

Verify and check the measurement sheets of actual work executed prepared by the Contractor.Follow up on all cost related correspondence and issues.Preparation of monthly payment certificates to Clients and Consultants.Variation of Works and Extension of Time – assessment and recommendation of work variations and extension of time claimsReview and evaluate variations and maintain an updated variation log.Prepare commercial /cost reports to the Management on monthly basis.Attend commercial /progress meetings with Contractors/Consultants and Client.Subcontracts management and administration.Handle Contractual, legal, commercial and insurance issues related to subcontracts and with lower tier subcontractors.Ensure that contractual and commercial matters are handled efficiently by minimizing claims from the subcontractors

3. Skills
Engineering graduate (Mechanical), post graduation in QS will be an advantage
6 – 8 years of estimation experience in oil & gas / petrochemical industryMeticulous, detail oriented, and able to work independently.Strong sense of ownership in delivering results,Proactive and self-driven.Customer service skills.Good Team PlayerCommunication and listening skills.Computer literacy skills (MS Office, Auto Cad, PDF and MS Project).Problem solving/trouble shooting skills.Project cost management & cost control capability.Negotiation skills.Good HSE awarenessHands on Experience on Estimation Software or highly proficient in MS Excel Thanks and regards,
