FRESHERS Trainee Engineer for Megastra Jaya Sdn Bhd, Malaysia

Job Position: Engineering Trainee
Reporting to: Director & Toolroom Senior
Authority: None

This position will put the candidate into an entry level with a wide scope to learn all aspects of foundry operation from part concept, mould design, casting, and post machining as well as how to liaise with suppliers and customers. 

The position will be broken into 4 sections will be covered over 2-3 years. 

Casting & Processing (6 months) - The candidate will be taught how to cast parts in a working foundry and process them to the required level to export to the customer. This will involve both pressure and gravity die casting, filing, trimming and learning all the other machines involved (ie. rumbling, vibratory polishing)

Maintenance & Repairs (4 months) - This will involve working with the current maintenance department to diagnose faults as well as repair machines.

3D mould, part design & technical quality assurance
 (6 months) - In this section the candidate will learn how to create parts and moulds suitable for manufacture. They will also learn how to use quality control machinery such as our CMM.

Machining & Tool manufacturing (6 months) - This will be the final point where the candidate will learn how to process machine parts on a number of CNC machines, learn how to select tools and machining variables. They will be responsible for the aluminium castings as well as the other engineering parts and ultimately manufacturing moulds.

During this time the candidate is expected to grow in stature and confidence, and ultimately be abler to handle individual projects as part of a team of other like employees with rotating responsibilities. The handling of projects will also require communicating with customers regarding their requirements as well as suppliers to find necessary components, best pricing as well as overall quality. 

This is an entry position where after completion the candidate will be able to, with confidence, be able to control a project from start to finish. We are not a school however, we are a commercial business with high standards. This position has come about as we have grown disillusioned with attempting to find skilled workers who have ultimately disappointed.

To be chosen the candidates will need to satisfy some condition.
1. Academically very good - The candidate will have needed to have scored very well and prove it with school reports. 
2. Very good results from technical college.
3. During the first year the wages are considered low as the candidate is more of a liability than an asset. This is also to show you are keen to learn and move upwards.
4. Good English (written and verbal)
5. No older than 24 years.

Characteristic Requirements.

2. Ability to live away from India.
3. Willing to learn a wide range of skills.
4. Considers doing the job properly more than doing the job according to their wages.

What we offer. 
1. After 2 years, and presuming the candidate can control projects the base pay will be very attractive. 
2. Shared hostel will be provided.
3. Company funded training for various machines and software.
4. Annual return ticket with 2 week break.

It is our intention to come to India late in June for interviewing candidates.  This will most probably be in Chennai.
