Material Engineer
- Experience in Road, Highways & Bridges
- Materials testing like Asphalt, Cement.
- Review plans for new products and make recommendations for the selection of materials based on design objectives, such as heat resistance, strength, weight and cost
- Conduct tests on raw materials and finished products to ensure they meet quality standards and specifications
- Prepare budgets and proposals, write reports and analyze labor costs and ensure all projects remain within budget
- Plan and conduct laboratory operations for the development of fabrication procedures and materials that meet specifications and standards
- Analyze product issues and failure data to better understand the causes of problems and come up with better and more innovative solutions
- Guide and supervise technical staff members during the material development process and ensure work is done correctly and safely
- Consult with corporate executives and other engineering professionals as necessary to plan and assess new projects and their objectives
- Modify the properties of substances such as metal alloys by utilizing mechanical and thermal treatments
Civil Design Engineer
- Experience in Roads, Highways & Bridges.
- Creating designs and blueprints along with a team of other engineers and drafters, usually with the assistance of computer software.
- Coordinating efforts with a planning committee to ensure that the design is created in accordance with what is required.
- Sometimes building a prototype of the intended creation, for testing and approval.
- Making modifications to existing designs or products, to improve their performance or to integrate new technology.
- Calculating various factors to ensure that the design will realistically be possible
Project Manager - Civil
- Experience in Road, Highways & Bridges.
- Determine and define scope of work and deliverables
- Predict resources needed to complete project
- Obtain necessary permits, approvals, and other regulatory prerequisites
- Draft and submit budget based on scope of work and resource requirements
- Manage costs in order to meet budget
- Provide direction over contracts and subcontracts
- Manage construction schedule and activities
- Issue progress updates as needed regarding costs and timelines
- Ensure work is done in compliance with all relevant building and safety codes
- Select and manage subcontractor and supplier relationships
- Coordinate efforts across entire project between architects, designers, engineers, and subcontractors
Quantity Surveyor
- Experience in Road, Highways & Bridges.
- Review architectural plans and prepare quantity needs
- Estimate the quantity and costs of materials
- Prepare contracts and documents
- Set budgets for payments, inventory needs, and materials
- Analyze costs for maintenance and additional building needs
- Track changes in plans or constructions; update budgets
- Negotiate with contractors and subcontractors
- Hire and document contractors and subcontractors
- Act as a liaison between clients and site managers/engineers
- Keep track of construction materials and inventory
- Identify potential financial or construction risks
- Advise clients on improvements, strategies, and/or estimated costs
- Prepare payments for contractors and subcontractors
- Document progress, materials, and reports on project
- Advise on property taxes, regulations, and local laws
- Source maintenance costs and facilities management for clients
- Develop and maintain working relationships with contractors and subcontractors
- Utilize software to calculate, record, and track inventory and estimates
- Analyze completed projects to determine ROI and compare costs
