Senior Service Engineer for DeVogan World Nigera Ltd.

Roles and Responsibilities

Air Compressor & Air dryer Service, Preventative Maintenance and Repairs (80%)

• Perform routine, preventative maintenance and repairs on oil injected and oil-free air compressors.
  
• Preventative maintenance should be conducted in accordance with manufacturers recommendations (with regards to schedule and scope).
  
• Perform diagnostics on malfunctioning compressors, determine possible causes for malfunctions, and perform repairs as suggested by OEM.
  
• Follow through OEM guidelines for service, preventative maintenance and repairs. Document the proper operating parameters of the compressor.
  
• Work on electrical panels, microprocessor controllers and mechanical faults on the machine
  
• Carry out commissioning of new equipments like screw air compressors, air dryers, filters etc
  
• Provide a high level of customer service, responding to customer needs and working to satisfy customer expectations.
  
• Manage tool room and workshop for repairing of screw elements.
  
• Carry out bearing vibration analysis on screw elements and electrical motors to diagnose service life of these major components.
  
• Knowledge of overhauling of screw element, motor overhauling, Controller programming & electrical fault repairing is a must.
  
• Develop rapport with customers through effective communication, interpersonal skills, and professionalism.
  
• Develop service team. Train and assist other Service Technicians.
  
• Provide technical support to other departments and personnel as required.
  
• Promote and practice proper safety procedures and the correct use of personal protective equipment at all times.
  

Recordkeeping and Documentation (20%)

• Complete customer work order forms, service data reports, time cards, expense reports, and other job-related paperwork as required.
  
• Perform additional assignments as required.
  

Desired Candidate Profile

• Must be self-directed and have excellent organizational, interpersonal, verbal and written communication, and problem-solving skills.
  
• Must be proficient in Microsoft Office, including Word and Excel.
  
• Availability for 24-hour emergency calls.
  
• Car / Pick up driving experience will be preferred
  

Required Experience

• 6 to 8 years of technical field service experience maintaining and repairing of screw air compressors like Atlas Copco / Chicago Pneumatic / ELGI / IR / KAESER and Air dryers. Also must have tool room, screw element overhauling experience with high degree of precision.
  
• Knowledge of overhauling of screw element, motor overhauling, Microprocessor Controller programming, electrical fault repairing is a must.
  
• Must have an experience in servicing, troubleshooting, commissioning, maintenance of compressors and air dryers.
  
• Strong mechanical and electrical skills.
