Safety Officer for Zamil Offshore Services, Saudi Arabia

    Qualification & Experience : 
    The basic educational requirement is a bachelor's degree in occupational health and safety or a related field like industrial management. OR, Chief Officer or Safety Officer with marine experience/background.
    Safety Officer Training.
    Valid Medical Certificate.
    ISM and Risk Assessment training.
    Preferably 12 months experience in a similar role.
    Clear and effective oral and written communications skills in English language.
    Strong coordination, organization and liaison skills with the ability to seek and gain consensus solutions to complex issues.
    Strong problem-solving skills are required.
    Computer skills are required, since it is necessary to create safety reports, inspection checklists for safety programs. 

    Description : 
    Conduct periodic safety evaluations and surveys of subordinate activities, safety programs and procedures to determine the level of compliance with safety regulations, directives, and instructions.
    Understand safety regulations and standards, and participate in the development of new or revised safety standards.
    Maintain injury/illness accident data and reports, analyzes reports, and initiate action to improve safety program.
    Increase safety awareness through appropriate promotional methods and channels of communication such as safety talks and meetings.
    Conducts visits to perform safety audits, enforce legal regulations, assist personnel to develop safety programs and instruct personnel on safety procedures.
    A Safety Officer may be called upon to write and update new strategies promoting workplace safety. A strategy may include programs which deter accidents and reward personnel for having no accidents, safety issues or hazards over a given time.
    Investigates accidents and conducts periodic safety inspections.
    Advises and assists in the organization and implementation of a complete vehicle safety program for motor vehicle operation.
    Applies hazard control fundamentals and techniques.
    Provide a comprehensive advisory service to proponent on matters affecting health and safety at work and the implementation of the Companys Health and Safety Policy.
    Assist proponent in maintaining the maximum degree of control of health and safety hazards in the workplace.
    Monitor and assess hazardous and unsafe situations and developing measures to assure personnel safety. 
    Conduct workplace risk assessments and participates in risk management strategies.

    Must have experience in ship yard, marine & offshore background
