POSITION & SALARY
- Safety Officer
- Salary 175 QAR 190 QAR/12hrs Per Day.
- Overtime Not applicable
Primary purpose of the job
Safety Officers are field staff for advising, mentoring, motivating, and monitoring the workforce regarding the implementation of SHE requirements at site.
Safety Officers report to the safety leader. Safety Officers are expected to work in shifts (day/night).
Education & Experience:
- Diploma or equivalent qualification, of minimum one-year duration, in Occupational Safety and Health or NEBOSH/NVQ Certificate
- Minimum 5 year experience in occupational safety and health, which shall include a minimum of 3 year experience in an Oil & Gas sector. Shutdown experience would be preferred.
- Good understanding regarding the working and correct usage of different types of safety equipment (fall arrestors/PPEs etc.)
- Good understanding of risk assessment methodologies, reactive and proactive monitoring techniques, and incident investigation techniques
- Sound knowledge in emergency response and management
- Good understanding of hazards and controls of work at height, confined space and hot work
- Good knowledge on types of gas monitors, gas test requirements and characteristics of toxic and flammable gases, preferably AGT
- Good communication (oral) skills in English
