HSE Engineers / HSE Supervisors (Kuwait)

Experience: 6 to 8 yrs.


Urgently required for a leading Construction Company involved in Refinery / Petrochemical / Oil & Gas Construction Projects in Kuwait.

Job Description
Functions and Responsibilities (Major Duties):
 
-Conducts Health, hygiene and ergonomic related studies and surveys, advised on potential hazards from current or proposed process or expansion and recommends control measures necessary to minimize exposure to harmful environment.
-Carries out regular inspection on all Company workshops and plants to ensure their compliances with industrial health standards. Ensure that catering contractors are meeting requisite standards for health and hygiene. Reports violations and makes appropriate recommendations.
-Carries out the necessary gas test and provides appropriate recommendations before work permits are signed for personnel to enter tanks and enclosed spaces.
-Controls industrial health laboratory activities, operates equipment's as required and observes results outcomes. Ensures approved analysis methods are adhered to, reports results to supervisor. Ensure equipment maintenance and calibration program is developed and implemented according to company standards.
-Develops and conducts health and hygiene related lectures and training programs for company employees, contractors and public as required. Controls health promotion and awareness campaigns.
-Participates and controls health inspection activities of operating facilities during shutdowns.
Assures that appropriate health and hygiene control plans are in place prior to the start of new projects and maintenance shutdowns.
-Participates in emergency response activities to ensure effective implementation of health and
hygiene control plans. Provides technical expertise for health issues in case of cleaning up spilled
materials including; crude oil, process chemicals, fuels etc.
-Studies and advises on employee cases exposed to hazardous substances in support of evaluation of assessment claims for industrial illness.
-Carries out other related duties such as attending committees, writing reports adhering to
HSEMS procedures, rules and regulations, training, conducting lectures to employees, operating
PC, participates in the selection of new personal protective equipment and industrial solvents, assisting in supervising pest control contract and giving work directions to company and contractor personnel.

Minimum requirements:
Education and Training:
 
University degree in Environmental Health Science or equivalent.

Experience (Gen & Specialized):
 
Minimum 6 to 8 years related experience including 1 year familiarization within Oil Industry.
