The Purchasing Manager will report into Chief Operating Officer and will support the whole purchasing team to achieve targets set. Ensuring training and development of the team is kept at the forefront of daily activities and support all members of the purchasing and operations team
The role will have a clear focus, supporting the purchasing function at a strategic level to help achieve objectives required to aid production of existing products and new product development
Main Responsibilities
Managing and controlling all the companys external suppliers with particular emphasis on the purchase of raw materials and other supplies
Ensure parts and materials are bought at the most competitive price and delivered on time for production.
Establish strategic relationships with key suppliers who are aligned to the company's needs
Identify new suppliers, agree terms and negotiate supply agreements where appropriate, including discount structures and volume rebates.
Foster close working relationships with other departments in the company
Continually improve purchasing methods and drive down external spend
To carry out a comprehensive review of the Purchasing function and its methodology and identify and implement improvements
Analyze business requirements and design solutions in the area of purchasing function
To oversee purchases, maintenance and service contract negotiations
Prioritize requests from internal customers and ensure they are handled efficiently
Manage team performance and goals and ensure teams meet operational expectations and performance standards
Plan and supervise the workflow to ensure the best practice in Procurement processes
Encourage and solicit input from staff and ensure their suggestions and concerns are addressed
Provide appropriate training to the subordinates to develop job related competencies and improve behavioural skills enabling them to enhance performance level
Evaluate staff performance and provide them appropriate counselling and to create career opportunities to staff and establish conducive teamwork environment
Should have good oral and written communication, and presentation skills
Good Co-ordination and man management skills

The compensation offered shall include tax free salary, housing, company maintained car and other benefits. The package offered provides a decent saving potential. The compensation shall be in line with the best in Industry
The candidate should be a Professional Purchase Manager with about 15 years experience in FMCG or other Manufacturing companies. We are looking for candidates who have had independent responsibility of Purchase Function in leading companies having handled purchase volume of at least Rs. 500 crores annually.
