What we require:
The Senior Software Programmer should have high-level capacity in software applications programming, capacity for technical leadership, and in partnership with the System Architect, expertise in development projects.
*He/She should have specialised skills in software development, preferably ASP.net and SQL Server database.
*He/She should have wide ranging experience in application development in public sector financial management.
*He/She should be capable of providing technical leadership to a large IT Teams for new software development.
*The specialist should have a (post) graduate degree in IT or computer science or related field, with at least 10 years experience in software applications development in the public sector domain.
Scope of Work:
*Provide technical support to Component Director and IT Project Manager
*Review and report bi-monthly on progress of software application development by the IT Development Team against the project schedule, identifying issues and possible solutions
*Implementation of agreed measures to resolve issues
*Support the IT Project Manager and contribute to the development of an implementation (rollout) strategy and a critical path analysis;
*Provide hands-on technical support and advice to the IT Development Team to speed up the achievements of key milestones and deliverables in the Implementation Plan, undertake quality assurance, and capacity building of the IT *Development Team and advise on infrastructure as needed
*Provide technical support and advice to Component Director and IT Project Manager to seamlessly handover/switchover of the new system
*Ensure that the software development of an integrated financial management system is done following international best practices
*Support the Component Director and IT Project Manager to effect a smooth change over from the old system to the new one
*Establish and sustain effective communication with team members, the IT Project Manager and Component Director.
