Batching Plant Operator

QUALIFICATIONS

Mandatory

3 years ready mix concrete batching experience within the GCC

Spoken Arabic, Hindi and English

Fleet shipping RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES

Health & Safety

Understand the Company’s Health & Safety policy and comply with the rules and standards at all times.

Communication of Health & Safety policies, rules and standards to plant staff and ensure plant and personnel’s full compliance with the HSMS and company rules..

Ensure the plant is operated and maintained in a safe, clean, tidy and efficient manner following the procedures set out in the HSMS.

Ensure the effective communication of all accidents / incidents and document them in the approved company format and be actively involved in their investigation.

Conduct VFLs on a regularly basis and inspect their sites for issues with regard to Health & Safety and Quality.

Conduct Tool-Box talks and Safety Committees as directed by the company.

Act as Emergency Coordinator and conduct fire drills and Fire Equipment inspections.

Complete Permit to Work and One Minute Risk Assessments as required.

Participation in the development of Risk Assessments and Safe Systems of Work.

Check that all “Plant and Vehicle Daily Checks”, “LOTOTO”, “Plant Maintenance and Service Logs”, “Defect Reports” are completed.

Conduct site inductions with all visitors and new members of staff visiting the site. Ensuring that all people on site are aware of the hazards and dangers.

Ensure that all staff at the plant are trained and suitable to perform their tasks and conduct on the job training as required.

Ensure that staff accommodation is maintained in a clean and safe condition and the cook is adequately resourced to provide meals for the staff.

Production

Carryout daily checks and start up procedures.

Operate the BCmix plant computer system in accordance with company procedures to produce ready mixed concrete.

Control the activities and duty hours of all plant staff directly involved with their activity i.e. Truck Mixer Drivers, Pump Crews, Shovel Operators and Helpers.

Maintain adequate stock levels of cement, aggregate and admixture, liaising with suppliers for deliveries of approved materials. Checking all delivered materials for quantity and quality.

Maintain stock records and material receipts on BCmix and Redisoft.

Ensure raw material losses / gains are within allowable tolerances.

Ensure the plant is serviced and maintained as per company procedures.

Notify Plant Supervisor and workshop of any issues regarding plant and equipment, breakdowns, required servicing, faults etc.

Ensuring all concrete meets the company’s requirements before leaving the plant. 

Area In Charge

Qualification & Experience : 
Graduate degree holder; technical background is an advantage

Quality experience in sales & marketing

Good knowledge of operations and experience in running a ready-mix concrete plant

Well conversant with emails, enterprise applications and MS Word & Excel

Have a pleasing personality and to establish rapport with customers easily

Fluent in both written & spoken English, Arabic spoken & written is a plus

Principal Accountabilities:

Be overall responsible for Health & Safety in the plant and all the job sites in area where

BU is supplying.

Make a proper market mapping of his area.

List all the existing/potential customers and segment them as per their size of projects.

Make weekly appointment plan in CRM.

Meet customers for new orders, provide service of existing orders, perform site visits & collection of payment on a regular basis as per weekly plan and update CRM with Summary Highlights.

Send regular reports on market information to SM.

Compile and send daily routine production reports to Head Office.

Make schedule of delivery and coordinate with Operations Supervisor for allocation or reallocation of trucks & pumps.

Job Purpose:

The Area In-charge is responsible for overall business of the city/town, collection & deposit of payments and efficient execution & service of orders from his plant within a robust Health & Safety environment both in plant & the project sites.

Key Challenges:

To cover all potential customers for maximum market share

To collect payments within due date thereby keeping DSO in check

To efficiently service all deliveries in order to have high customer satisfaction

To steer and lead his team in Lafarge standard of Health & Safety

Pump Operator 

Qualifications:

Educational Qualification: Secondary Education or equivalent

Third Party Certified Concrete Pump Operator

Minimum 1 year of work experience as Concrete Pump Operator

Knowledge of English language

Knowledge of Arabic and/or Hindi is an advantage

Knowledge of readymix business and concrete production

Knowledge of basic mechanic and hydraulic processes
Responsibilities:

Ensure the daily routine check and inspection of pump status before starting the concrete pumping.

Follow all safety rules on sites as well as Company safety standards.

Ensure that pumping of concrete on site is properly done.

Ensure proper housekeeping of pump.

Ensure proper maintenance of a pump, do daily grease pump moving parts.

Reporting defects in the pump.

Follows all safety rules while on the job.

Plant Operator (In Charge), Plant Supervisor, Area In Charge, Production
Supervisor, Operations Manager.
