Job Purpose
Closely collaborates with the Project Manager (MEP) in planning, directing, coordinating, budgeting, monitoring, controlling, executing and exercising functional authority for all, and closing of the projects within his area of assigned authority. Participate in the conceptual development of a construction project and oversee its organization, scheduling, and implementation. Act as Project In Charge during absence of the Project Manager
Principal Accountabilities
Plan, direct, coordinate, usually through subordinate supervisory personnel, activities concerned with the construction.
Schedule the project in logical steps and budget time required to meet deadlines, coordinate and supervise the construction process from the conceptual development stage through final construction, making sure that the project gets done on time and within budget.
Schedule and coordinate all design and construction processes, including the selection, hiring, and oversight of specialty trade contractors.
Determine labor requirements and dispatch workers to construction sites.
Oversee the performance of all construction supervisors and all trade contractors and are responsible for ensuring that all work is completed on schedule
Inspect and review projects to monitor compliance with building and safety codes, and other regulations.
Prepare contracts and negotiate revisions, changes and additions to contractual agreements with architects, consultants, clients, suppliers and subcontractors.
Directs and monitor the progress of construction activities, sometimes through construction supervisors.
Oversee the delivery and use of materials, tools, and equipment; workers productivity and safety; and the quality of construction.
Responsible for obtaining all necessary permits and licenses and, depending upon the contractual arrangements, direct or monitor compliance with building and safety codes, other regulations, and requirements set by the projects insurers.
Work in accordance with safety rules and policies.
Communications and Working Relationships
Reports to Project Manager MEP on project progress and any high-level issues
Interacts with MEP Project Engineers, MEP Construction Supervisors to resolve any site construction issues
Interacts with the entire project organization on a daily basis
Interacts, when needed, with visitors on site
Knowledge, Skills and Attributes
Bachelor /Masters Degree in Electro-Mechanical Engineering from a reputable university or colleges
With Minimum 12 years experience in the MEP (HVAC, Plumbing, Firefighting) constructions specifically with Industrial, commercial and residential Building works, in the GCC, preferably in Saudi Arabia
Has been responsible for major construction projects in excess of SAR 1 billion.
Middle East management experience of minimum 8 As Construction Manager is considered essential
PMP Certificate
MS Project, Primavera, MS Office, Internet and other Engineering Software will be an advantage
Very good command of English language, both written and spoken
Effective oral and written communication
