Our client has an intriguing role for an experienced Production Manager on a 25,000 bird poultry operation in Nigeria. A two hour drive from Lagos, the farm is almost entirely automatic, vertically integrated, and comprises a feed mill, maize farm operation and composting area. The company recently received substantial investment that is set to generate huge growth and opportunity moving forward. Such financing provides an exciting foundation for an enthusiastic, focused professional to steer the farm through this growth period and to instil long-term success at farm level.
The new manager will be responsible for the profitable production of the farm, overseeing 4 direct reports and 20 supervisors, as well as 2 houses of birds. The holding company is envisioning a dramatic increase in numbers, as well as additional modernization. The Production Manager will be assisting in managing these plans, and making sure that they are a success
The new Production Manager will be responsible for:
• Providing management and leadership to the senior management team.
• Designing and implementing strategies to drive growth and profit.
• Operating a smooth production process whilst ensuring clear animal welfare standards.
• Management of feed, ventilation and vaccinations.
• Provide the group management with monthly, quarterly and annual reports.
• Direct the investment into the operation, and ensuring that the farm remains a highly profitable operation.
Requirements:
• Must have at least 10 years management experience in the agricultural sector.
• 5 years’ experience on a large-scale poultry operation.
• Excellent management experience, preferably in Africa.
• Be happy to live and work remotely.
