Field Communication Engineer / Network Engineer
- Help the senior engineer with the daily network operations and projects
- Take care for all communication systems infrastructure in the field including : VSAT ,Switches, Routers, Wireless LAN , telephone systems , wifi access points, Radios and Thuraya units and other systems that may be introduced.
- Administers and supports network backbone and edge switches
- Responsible for all ISP contacts and coordination efforts
- Responsible for Administration task like Purchase orders, Inventory control, and equipment disposal
- Responsible for problem diagnosis for hardware and software problems utilizing appropriate tools and
- diagnostic techniques
- Ensure proper logging and tracking of user problems using the established lT ticketing systems (Service desk, change management and others)
- Test and install new equipment when required
- Bachelor degree in Electrical, Electronics/Communications Engineering or minimum of 4 years of experience in telecommunication and networking field
- Has attended Cisco technical courses like CCNA, Redline or similar
- Minimum of 3 years of related experience in Oil and Gas Companies
- Knowledge of TCP/IP, Networking Technologies, Routing and switching protocols, Cisco Call Manager and Cisco wireless controller
- Hands-on experience with Cisco routers, switches, Access Points and IP Phones
- Willing to work overtime/overnight as required
- Willing to work in a team
Sr. Field Communication Engineer / Sr. Network Engineer
- Responsible for all communication systems infrastructure in the field including: VSAT, Switches,
- Routers, Wireless LAN, telephone systems, Wi-Fi access points, Radios, Satellite phones like: Thuraya
- units and other systems that may be introduced.
- Administrates and supports network core and edge switches.
- Diagnoses network problems and bottlenecks and initiates remedial action if needed.
- Responsible for all ISP contacts and coordination efforts.
- Responsible for Administration tasks like Purchase orders, Inventory control, and equipment disposal.
- Responsible for problem diagnosis for hardware and software problems utilizing appropriate tools and
- diagnostic techniques.
- Identify and suggest opportunities to enhance communication infrastructure.
- Ensure proper logging and tracking of user problems using the established lT ticketing systems (Service
- desk, change management and others
- Bachelor degree in Electrical, Electronics/Communications Engineering or 15 years of experience in telecommunication and networking field
- Minimum of 10 years of related experience in Oil and Gas Companies
- Has attended Cisco technical courses like CCNA, Redline or similar
- Depth knowledge of TCP/IP, Networking Technologies, Routing and switching protocols, Cisco Call Manager and Cisco wireless controller
- Hands-on experience with Cisco routers, switches, Access Points and IP Phones
- Willing to work overtime/overnight as required
- Willing to work in a team
- Provide IT support across all company "MICO" locations
- Provide proactive rather than reactive services
- Comply with all established process and procedures
- Serve as first point of contact for all IT issues through IT call center within define SLA
- Perform end users support for all IT related issues within a defined SLA
- Prepare and deploy new computers, new mobile phones and install applications using the existing imaging and packaged applications processes
- Provide virus monitoring, remediation, and OS/application patching support
- Provide end users training
- Capable of installing and commissioning print/scan devices on file and print servers per established process and procedures Perform preventative maintenance on all IT hardware to include printers, projectors, VTC, and phones
- Maintain and control IT equipment inventories
- Configure and maintain new hardware for end users
- Ensure proper logging and tracking of user problems using the established IT ticketing systems
- Maintain documentation for IT equipment, spares, and configurations
- Participate in the 24/7 off-hours rotational emergency support while in the office shift
- Provide 24/7 IT support for the MICO fields while on the rotational shift
- Monitor all IT systems in the field for availability and health
- Perform field infrastructure maintenance on regular basis
- Track IT equipment warranty status
- Bachelor degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related fields with 4+ Years of relevant experience or diploma in the related field with 6+ years of relevant experience in supporting PCs/user support in medium to large corporations
- Demonstrated 4 years of experience working in oil and gas industry supporting critical operations
- Excellent computer skills and hands-on experience with Microsoft Windows
- Operating systems and Office software products
- Good problem solving techniques and conflict resolution, proven training in this area required or should be attended after
- Excellent customer service skills
- Strong communication and organization skills and the ability to work efficiently in a team environment with minimum supervision and customer service focus
- Strong written and verbal communications skills (English)
