Mechanical Piping Commissioning Technician

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Objectives:
Ensure the projects commitment to Safety is maintained.
To complete the work scope assigned within the defined project schedule, ensuring the engineering design standards are achieved and equipment operability satisfactorily demonstrated.

Responsibilities:
Demonstrate personal HSSE leadership and excellent HSE behaviours at all times, and ensure that safety expectations are communicated and maintained.
Attend all mandatory training as specified in HSE, and Permit to Work training schedule.
Be fully aware and understand all the projects safe working practices and adhere to them to maintain a SAFE working environment.

Mechanical Commissioning Technician


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Hands on testing and set up of all mechanical field equipment, inclusive of pumps, air compressors, turbines, piping systems, coolers and valves.
Experience of using vibration monitors, laser alignment, lifting equipment, flushing skids, torque and tensioning equipment.
Hands on experience in overhauling and commissioning, pumps, valves, compressors, coolers, turbines and pipe work.
Experienced in the interpretation of all engineering documents including datasheets, P&IDs, Vendor drawings, pump curves, compressor curves, etc.

Responsibilities:
Systems Completion Execution Phase at Site

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Commissioning technician is categorized as a specialist and employed and dismissed from work by the order of General Director.
Commissioning technician directly reports to the Project Manager.
Due to the specifics of his job the commissioning technician shall know:

Primary function:
To support safe execution of the telecommunications commissioning work scope in accordance with contract requirements, specifications and schedule.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

To carry out pre-commissioning verification and commissioning activities of HVAC Automation Systems
Responsible for pre-commissioning and commissioning activities of HVAC Automation System
Experience in installation, testing, pre-commissioning, commissioning & operation on oil field of large size heating, ventilation & air conditioning systems comprising of chillers, HVAC equipments, cooling towers, piping and building management system, etc.
To support commissioning of HVAC equipment like Screw/reciprocating Air cooled liquid chillers, Cooling towers, AHUs, VAV's, Package/central splits, FCU, chemical dosing pump & Ozone Generators etc.
To carry out chilled water system commissioning & balancing using flow meter chilled water piping flushing procedure & chilled water chemical treatment.
To perform commissioning of BMS & HVAC electrical Control systems. Air distribution systems commissioning & Air balancing using micro manometer & Pitot tube etc.

KEY REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS

Reports to the Mechanical Senior Commissioning Engineer for planning and execution management support.
Directs and supervises the Mechanical commissioning technicians in assigned plant areas ensuring full alignment and coordination with other discipline activities in the area.
Communicates with the Mechanical Senior Commissioning Engineer for technical support.

TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Lock Out / Tag Out Coordinator
REPORTING TO: Lead Permit to Work/ Commissioning Manager



Responsibilities:
Overall responsibility to the Site Controller (OIM) for the safe control of work activities; this includes issue of work control certificates
Liaising closely with the Performing Authorities when planning work to ensure that all of the appropriate hazards and controls have been identified for the task
Ensure that all work requiring a permit has a joint work site visit in support of building the risk assessment. This usually takes place at least 48 hours prior to issue
Ensure the appropriate level of risk assessment has been carried out for the task and that this has used the hierarchy of control measures. Consultation of the Task risk Classification Table (TRCT)
