Industrial Hygienist
    1. Bachelors Degree in Engineering 
    (Mechanical/Chemical /Environmental) or Master of Science (M.Sc.) in Chemistry / Physics / Biology / Environmental Toxicology or Industrial Hygiene

    2. Chemistry / Physics / Biology / Environmental Toxicology or Industrial Hygiene and the equivalent specialization with minimum of eight to ten (8-10) years industrial hygiene experience, which includes one to two (1-2) years experience in Oil and Gas Industries.
    Must have successfully completed minimum one (1) certified IH Course that meet the criteria of American Board of Industrial Hygiene (ABIH).
    OR
    Must have completed minimum one (1) training module offered by Bureau of Occupational Safety & Health (BOSH)/American Industrial Hygienists Association (AIHA).

    1. Job Description:
    1.1 Supervises and controls the work of personnel in his charge.
    1.2 Maintain list of safety equipment in his charge.
    1.3 Prepares accident, incident, near miss and investigation reports and submits to the Company's Representative.
    1.4 Devise a safety management system, which is consistent with that operated by KOC.
    1.5 Conducts safety inspections at applicable operational areas and reports findings to supervisor.
    1.6 Reviews daily reports and recommendations made by subordinates, discusses same in daily meetings with supervisor, where appropriate, and suggests amendments.
    1.7 Reviews company projects and technical procedures to ensure compliance with safety related policies and procedures, updates existing regulations and recommends amendments as necessary to cope with modified international code and standards.

    1.8 Audits work practices to ensure compliance with safety related policies and procedures, updates existing regulations and recommends amendments as necessary to cope with modified international codes and standards.
    1.9 Attends to emergencies / accidents and provides technical consultations, conducts investigations and follows-up on corrective actions of potential safety problems.
    1.10 Carries out safety training and promotional programs and takes required action for implementation of such programs includes giving lectures with illustrations, arranging distribution of posters and training on the use of breathing apparatus and safety devices. Monitors and reviews near miss reported accidents. Develops safety procedures, check list & guidelines as advisory support.
    1.11 Inspects permit to work on sites and suspends work when identifying imminent danger.
    1.12 Keeps abreast of latest developments in the field of safety and participates in Health, Safety & Environment committee meetings and other safety awareness programs.
    1.13 Carries out other related duties such as handling incident and follow reporting and investigation procedure to reduce the amount of loss and controlling the risk, attending meetings, preparing reports, using advanced computer software as an aid to projects, safety and awareness programs, presentation and training slides and testing of H2S gas and 02 percentage using combustible gas devices, explosive meters as required to determine safe work atmosphere, ensuring that HSE rules and regulations are adhered to and providing necessary reports as required.

    1.14 Should be familiar with Fire and other emergency situation and evacuation procedures.
    1.15 Check on periodic basis all equipment and tools specified in the Contract and ensure they are in safe working condition.
    1.16 Assist his Contractor personnel in obtaining work permit.
    1.17 Ensure Personnel protective equipment and other safety equipment are effectively and correctly used and maintained in good condition as per KOC SHEMS procedures.
      Salary: KWD 1375 / Month

    Safety Engineer
      1. Bachelors Degree in Engineering from a recognized and reputed university (4- years regular course), Safety Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Environmental / Ecology, Occupational Health, with minimum five years experience as HSE personnel in the relevant field, which include minimum two (2) years experience in oil and gas industries.
      2. Must have successfully completed one or more certified HSE course(s) in any category of training in general industrial safety, Construction Safety, Environmental Management, Industrial Hygiene, ISO 14001 / OHSAS 18001 Lead Auditor, NEBOSH, IOSH, ASSE Certificate in Global Safety Management or equivalent Courses, as appropriate to the designation.

          Bachelors Degree in any other discipline from a recognized and reputed university (regular course) with an IOSH or NEBOSH Certification from a recognized and reputed Institute, with minimum five (5) years experience as HSE personnel in the relevant field.
          OR
          Successfully passed High School with an IOSH or NEBOSH Certification from a recognized and reputed Institute, with minimum ten (10) years experience, including seven (7) years as HSE personnel in the relevant field.
          2. He will be responsible for implementation of HSE, conduct training to the Contractors staff and supervises the safety aspects of the complete facilities in general and Electrical safety aspects in particular.
          1.2.2. Ensures personnel's adherence to safe working.
          1.2.3. Check on periodic basis all equipments and tools specified in the Contract and ensure they are in safe working condition.
          1.2.4. Conducts Training on General Safety and safety in Electrical Operations and HT & LT Isolations & De-Isolations to Contractor personnel.
          1.2.5. Conducts Safety Promotion lectures / seminars to the Contractor personnel.
          1.2.6. Advises and suggest safe system of work in the designated fields.
          1.2.7. Assist Contractors personnel for obtaining work permit (Hot & Cold, Vessel Entry, Vehicle Entry, Electrical and Excavation etc.).
          1.2.8. Ensures personnel protective and safety equipment are effectively and correctly used and maintained in good condition as per the Company Safety procedures and requirements.
          1.2.9. Should be familiar with Fire and other emergency situation and evacuation procedures.

          1.2.10. Maintain good housekeeping at all time during the course of work.
          1.2.11. Conducts HSE inspections and safety surveillance on pipelines, flow lines, valve stations, Jurassic Gas wells, etc. according the pre-set schedule to ensure the KOC HSEMS Procedures, standards and HSE policies are applied. Identifies unsafe work practice, un-authorized excavation, suspends work if imminent danger appears and prepares reports by findings and recommends immediate remedial action to area work supervisor.
          1.2.12. Carries out gas testing utilizing various safety devices such as Multi Gas Monitors as required.

          1.3. Liaison
          1.3.1. Liaises with the Company Safety Representative on daily basis and as required.
          1.3.2. Liaises with the Company as well as other Contractors personnel concerning Safety matters.
          1.3.3. Liaises with the Contractors Resource Administrators and Supervisors within the Contract to ensure Safe working condition.
