Construction Project Manager (Kenya)

Experience: 10 to 20 yrs.
Key Qualifications: 
  • Vast experience in Project Management and a Project Team Leader. Expert in concrete construction.
  • Training of site agents, site engineers, foremen and specialist foremen.
  • Conversant with administrative, procurement and engineering aspects from structure to finishes in projects of all contract values. 

Duties:
  • Team building for the Main contractor.
  • Formulation & design.
  • Training of site engineers and specialist foremen.
  • Programming and Project administration.
  • Structure and finishes supervision.
  • Procurement of materials and plant.
  • Site organization and efficiency.
  • Main liaison with client and consultants.
  • Overall responsibility for Quality and Specifications.
  • Cost control and B.Q valuations for contractor.
  • Safety and Environment. 
Applicant be a holder of BE/B Tech. in Civil Engineering from a recognized reputable University with a broad based background in construction and at least Ten (10) years experience in all levels of Construction Projects Management.

REPORTING: To the C.E.O.

Further to the above the applicant should:

a. Have successfully supervised at least 5 major construction projects with a contract value of 100 Million plus.

b. Have over viewed the contracts together with labour and plant resource management, allocation, procurement programming, scheduling, information co-ordination and quality control.

c. Have knowledge in contracts administration for pre-and post-contract services, tendering evaluation and adjudication, contract review, project cash flow management, general correspondence, contractual procedures in the selection of Nominated/Domestic sub-contractors and good communication skills.

Have proven ability to: 
  • Set systems on construction sites that create class A workmanship.
  • Programming and Project Administration.
  • Draw the Master plan & Gantt chart.
  • Handle environmental, Government & local authority issues and licences.
  • Prepare, interview & assemble the site construction team
  • Places benchmark for quality & efficiency of materials & Labour.
  • Handle several sites 
  • Complete projects on time and to specifications, and follow ups on costing and payments
  • Liaise with clients, counsels and consultants for contract issues.
  • Supervise both domestic & nominated subcontractors.
  • Provide technical solutions
