Marketing Manager & National Sales Manager (Nigeria)

Marketing Manager 


Experience: 6 to 11 yrs.  | Salary: INR 18,00,000 - 30,00,000 P.A

A Marketing professional with 6 to 10 years experience in BTL / ATL, brand building from scratch.

BUDGETING:
  • Prepare annual marketing plans along with budgetary fund requirements and brand objectives. Develop an annual marketing plan in conjunction with the sales department. This should detail the years activity to meet agreed company objectives.
  • Budget management. To deliver all marketing activity within the agreed budget to meet agreed company objectives.

MARKETING RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Direct the hiring, training, and performance evaluations of marketing staff and oversee their daily activities.
  • Identify, develop, and evaluate marketing strategy, based on knowledge of establishment objectives and market characteristics.
  • Formulate, direct and coordinate marketing activities and policies to promote products and services, working with advertising and promotion teams.
  • Coordinate with sales team to initiate, plan and oversee implementation of local initiatives to drive volume growth with ATL & BTL activities.
  • Negotiate contracts with vendors.
  • Consult with product development personnel on product specifications such as design, color, and packaging.
  • Select products and accessories to be displayed at trade or special production shows.
  • Confer with legal staff to resolve problems, such as copyright infringement.
  • Coordinate and participate in promotional activities and trade shows, working with developers, advertisers, and production managers, to market products and services.
  • Initiate market research studies and analyze their findings.
  • Conduct economic and commercial surveys to identify potential markets for products and services.
  • Keeps promotional materials ready by updating materials; inventorying stock; placing orders; verifying receipt. 
  • Responsible for the marketing of company products and services to the right market whether B2B or B2C.
  • To manage all aspects of print production, receipt and distribution.
  • To achieve frequent, timely and positive media coverage across all available media.
  • To managing the entire product line life cycle from strategic planning to tactical activities.
  • To build trust, value others, communicate effectively, drive execution, foster innovation, focus on delivery to customers, collaborate with others, solve problems creatively and demonstrate high integrity.
  • Interact with advertising agencies to create and deliver brand communication in line with the overall marketing strategy. Evaluate Media plan and action same to achieve communication objectives.

National Sales Manager


Experience: 12 to 18 yrs.  | Salary: INR 25,00,000 - 40,00,000 P.A


A Sales and Marketing Professional with about 12 to 18 yrs. of experience in India at a Regional level with an FMCG company of repute (having handled 4-6 states).

A previous short stint in Africa would be desirous but not a pre-requisite. Ready to re-locate to Nigeria. Will be based in Lagos.

Would be expected to handle a team of 8 10 expatriate managers (direct reportees) and about 120 local staff (indirect reportees).

  • Responsible for obtaining profitable results through the sales team by developing the team through motivation, counselling, skills development and product knowledge development.
  • Manage the sales administration function, operational performance reporting, streamlining processes and systems wherever possible, and advising senior management on maximising business relationships and creating an environment where customer service can flourish.
  • Responsible for managing the sales team, developing a business plan covering sales, revenue, and expense controls, meeting agreed targets, and promoting the organisations presence throughout Nigeria.
  • Assist in the development of the annual marketing plan, specifically advising on: realistic forecasts for each product and territory (based on historical data, market trends, competitive activity, promotional strategy and sales effort), realistic costs of operating the sales force; and sales promotion programme plans.
  • Ensure that all sales representative activities are in accordance with the guidelines of the Company.
  • Responsible for the planning, recruitment, direction, organisation and control of sales managers and sales representatives to accomplish specific objectives.
  • Responsible for monitoring the performance of the sales team by establishing a system of reports and communications involving sales reports, cyclical sales meetings, sales newsletters and electronic bulletins.
  • Plan and implement a specific appraisal system (in liaise with the HR team) that best describes the responsibilities and performance standards for each member of the sales team, set individual territory sales and commission targets and administer the commission plan.
  • Personally observe the performance of sales team in the field on a regular basis.
  • Provide high standards of ongoing training so that they possess sufficient practical and technical knowledge to present information of the companys products in the market.
  • He should have an eye for every detail, able to lead from the front, foresee market trends, an avid traveler, able to handle Modern and Traditional trade with equal dexterity.
