Job Description

Minimum experience and skill set requirements (not limited to) for Emerson

AMS system engineer is as Indicated below:

Engineering graduate.

Minimum of 8 or more years of experience in Industry preferably hydrocarbon

industry.

Minimum 3 years of experience with Emerson AMS system.

Install the AMS device manager from scratch. Should be able to build the entire AMS

network and system configuration.

Maintain the AMS database up to Unit level. Set up folder structure for uploading

datasheets, loop drawings, calibration schedules, reports etc. Add new DD files for new

devices. Establish connectivity of the field communicator to AMS system for download of

hand held communicator data to AMS system.

Maintain licenses, application software and review system diagnostics like multiplexer

health, connectivity of client stations, health of AMS server etc.

Perform system administration tasks like maintaining backups, control username and

privileges, configuration/modification of device alerts etc.

Perform multiplexer configuration (HART, PROFIBUS, MTL, ROC, Wireless etc.) and

addition of new multiplexers in the system.

Work on the AMS system architecture and interface to DCS and other packages. Network

communication interface set up.

Configuration of AMS portal.

System upgrades and security patch management.
