Design or create graphics to meet specific commercial or promotional needs, such as packaging, displays, promotional artwork or logos. Use a variety of mediums to achieve artistic or decorative effects.

Independently handling all design requirements of French Line product development and packaging. Functioning as member of product development team, communicating and liaising with suppliers where technical issues are involved, all production artworks and technical support to packages department, providing Advertising and Product Promotion Design aids to the Marketing Department, providing technical support in terms of mechanical and engineering drawings and evaluation related to all new developmental projects.

MAIN JOB RESPONSIBILITIES 

Product Development (External Design Bottle):
Thinking creatively and developing design briefs by gathering relevant information & data
Evaluation of received designs with product development team
Technical evaluation and discussion on material, components and production methods
Contributing ideas and design artwork to the overall brief 
Creative conceptualizing
Using innovation to redefine a design brief and meet the constraints of cost, time and client 
Deciding on material, number of components and assembly methods with the team
Making technical and engineering drawings with specification of material, number of components and assembly methods taking consideration of cost and our production capabilities 
Communicating and discussing with suppliers on technical feasibilities
Making technical drawings and production art works for Printing, Engraving, Embossing, application of textures and other decorations on glass bottle and other components.
Evaluation of production samples Vis--vis technical drawings and art works.
Multi-tasking, often work on more than one design brief at a time
Producing accurate and high quality work 

Product Development (In-House Design Bottle):
Take ideas from Objects or discussion proposed and discussed in product development team meetings; visualize cost effective, technically feasible and aesthetically appealing products that are different from any already existing product in the market.
Making two or three options of designs with the same concept or idea
Discuss and finalize one of them in the product development team meeting
Prepare Technical and engineering drawings with dimensions, material specification and assembly methods for sending to manufacturers as pictorial rendering of the entire assembling process.
Communicate and discuss with manufacturers regarding material, tolerances and production obstacles if any.
Revise drawings several times as discussion progress with manufactures
Making technical drawings and production art works for Printing, Engraving, Embossing, application of textures and other decorations on glass bottle and other components
Evaluation of production samples Vis--vis technical drawings and art works

Packaging Design:
Based on current fashion and design trends and concept, name and theme of the project visualize several packaging designs
Design all these options digitally
Prepare physical mockups of all possible options
Research on new, cost effective and appealing material and processes for each option and suggest
Evaluation of all options within the departments and with marketing department
Rework several options based on comments and inputs from the evaluations
Prepare art works of finalized two or three options for costing purpose
Send art works to suppliers, communicate and discuss with them technical issues
Based on samplings and cost, prepare final production artwork based on production methods of particular supplier

Packaging Production & Printing:
Prepare artwork for any new project with in-house packages department
Prepare artwork for updating and modification of existing projects 
Prepare artwork and technical support for making films and dies from external suppliers
Personally monitoring and supervising while any proofing is done in-house
Technical support while transferring manual films to external suppliers and digital files from external suppliers
Working well in a team, with printers, copywriters, photographers, other designers & account executives 

Ancillary Product Designs:
Based on Objects or ideas discussed within the team, design new containers for talcum powder, concentrates etc.
Adapting the EDP product theme and packaging into the designs for supporting products such as Deodorants, Testers, Concentrates, talcum powder, creams etc.
Prepare few design options cans and container printing
Upon receipt of proofing from supplier make necessary modification and prepare final production artwork
Same process follows for packaging and printing of boxes.

Advertising and Marketing aids: 
Designing Product Catalogues & brochures, preparing complete production artwork and coordinate with the printers.
Prepare designs for posters, show cards, stickers, bags, labels etc.
Prepare production artwork and deal with the suppliers for technical issues
Prepare designs for outdoor ads done by the company and some distributers
Prepare production material and deal with the suppliers
Design Product display stands
Making technical drawings for the stands and deal with the manufacturer
Periodical requirements of leaflets, displays and other BTL designs.

Engineering and Mechanical:
Mechanical and Engineering drawings to support any new developmental project carried out by the management such as construction, interior or maintenance.
Drawings and support related to new or existing machinery and maintenance.
Surveying the market for product evaluation and sourcing

Other Inputs:
Analyzing information and evaluating results to choose the best solution and solve problems.
Give thoughts and inputs related to product names and themes
Search for same or similar names in the market to avoid copy right issues
Keeping surveillance of the market for new trends and designs and maintaining a library. 
Constantly watching new developments of International brands / competitors applying new knowledge to the job creatively.
Researching over internet for developments in related technology
Managing Groups all domain names and provide support to IT department in configuring Email, DNS etc.
Working to tight deadlines

Final dimensional perfection to avoid fitment issues product, liner and box wise.

Experience : 8-10 years of end-to-end experience as Visualizer, Graphic Designer with 
Advertising/ Media Agencies 

Knowledge :
All Design and Graphic software both on Mac and PC platforms,
Knowledge in material, processes, technology and cost in Printing and Packaging,
Knowledge of Advertisement visualization and production 
Technical knowledge of acrylic, wood and metal product displays,
Knowledge of exhibition stand design and production 
Knowledge of signage design & production, Web Design and multimedia presentations
Understanding of Glass bottle, Plastic Components, metal cans and components, their production and decoration processes.
Excellent knowledge of grammatical English language

Printers, Stand makers, display and sign makers, engineering & technical companies, Mac systems and product suppliers.
