The Construction Industry Reporter is essentially responsible for all of the written content produced . He or she will liaise with the management and members of the research department to identify top stories for coverage and BNC’s editorial angle. The editor will also proofread or edit copy produced by the research team as required.
ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES
The Construction Industry Reporter must follow the direction of his/her immediate supervisor and operate in accordance with the company’s procedures, policies, HSE standards and quality management system. The operational responsibilities of this position include:
Writing content for the daily newsletter and monitor its readership
Ensuring a daily minimum level of published articles
Producing other content for such as monthly country-specific construction sector reviews
Fact checking project records to ensure accuracy of copy
Building strong relationships with PR agencies locally and across the GCC
Managing content on the web portal such as country and sector pages
Attending media events to collect information, obtain interviews and improve industry networking
Planning and conducting interviews with subject matter experts and industry leaders
Editing content generated by the research department
Ensuring overall quality of all printed and online materials published
Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Communications, or English from a major accredited university
5-10 years’ experience in business journalism writing copy for a leading publication or website
A verifiable body of published work in English
Knowledge of the construction industry in the Middle East is a strong advantage
