EDUCATION & TRAINING
- Masters in Finance (MBA) from an internationally recognized university.
- Internationally recognized accounting/auditing qualification like ACCA or Chartered Accounting.
JOB DESCRIPTION
The Head of Internal Audit is responsible for the audit and review of the Company’s functions in retail and wholesale operations, and other areas, to ensure compliance with the Company’s internal policies and procedures.
Also to review the Company’s internal controls, and recommend ways of improving and developing the policies and procedures to minimize risk and cost; and increase profit.
It is essential that the Head of Internal Audit reports and keeps the Group Head of Audit (GHIA); abreast of all matters of significance.
MAIN DUTIES
a. Supervise audit staff in planning, organizing, directing and monitoring of Internal Audit operations, including assisting in hiring, training and evaluating staff; and taking corrective actions to address performance problems.
b. Identification and evaluation of the organization’s risk areas and development of the annual Audit Plan.
c. Responsible for overall performance of audit procedures, including identifying and defining issues, developing criteria, reviewing and analyzing evidence, and documenting processes and procedures.
d. Oversee audit staff in conducting audit interviews, reviewing documents, developing and administering surveys, composing summary memos,
and preparing audit working papers.
e. Oversee audit staff in the identification, development and documentation of audit issues and recommendations.
f. Communicate the results of audit in written reports and oral presentations to the GHIA, Management and the Audit, Risk and Compliance Committee (ARCC).
g. Pursue professional development opportunities, including internal and external training and professional association memberships, and share information gained with co-workers.
h. Represent Internal Audit at Management and Board meetings; and with external organizations, as required to support the GHIA
i. Oversee follow up of unresolved audit exceptions.
j. Oversee fraud and cash embezzlement detection routines and reporting.
k. Perform monthly review of staff payroll / process, leave settlements and end of service benefits.
l. Perform related work as assigned by the GHIA and / or the ARCC or the Board of Directors. Perform any other task as directed by the GHIA.
1. EDUCATION & TRAINING

2. EXPERIENCE
Minimum 7-10 years’ work experience with at least 5 years’ experience in a financial institution. Must also have knowledge of different regulatory environments.
