Sign Fabricator

Job Description

Everest Signs of Toronto, Canada is looking for a detail-oriented Sign Fabricator to play a crucial role in our in-house fabrication and installation teams. The ideal candidate will be responsible for crafting high-quality custom signs from various materials, ensuring that every project meets our clients specifications and high standards. This role involves interpreting blueprints, cutting, welding, and assembling metal components for commercial, industrial, and artistic signage. Attention to detail, craftsmanship, and technical skills will contribute to the success of each project at Everest Signs.

Location

Toronto, Canada (with relocation options available for candidates from Dubai, UAE, India, and other locations)

Key Responsibilities

• Fabricating and welding aluminum and steel parts from sheet stock using drawings and specifications
• Performing sign fabrication (Illuminated signs, pylons, fascia signs, letters, and radius covers)
• Use the required equipment and tools to form boxes and fabricate custom shapes (shears, brake press, rollers)
• Measure, cut, and bend various types of sheet metal into appropriate sizes and shapes
• Read technical drawings, analyze blueprints, and operate computerized fabricating equipment such as shears, saws, and presses
• Drill, anchor, and install sheet metal parts according to product specifications
• Follow safety regulations and maintain a good work ethic and attitude
• Ensure quality control throughout the fabrication process
• Perform other duties as assigned

Desired Skills and Experience

• Experience in aluminum fabrication
• Experience with welding
• Experienced in sign fabrication (Illuminated signs, pylons, fascia signs, letters, and radius covers) is a major asset
• Experience in the following areas: press fit joints, fabricate, assemble, machine shop maintenance and operations, (welding & press brake), extrusion systems
• Ability to confidently read and interpret shop drawings/blueprints, program basic equipment, operate machines efficiently, and provide continuous quality checks along the process
• High level of attention to detail that ensures high levels of quality
• Ability to focus on priorities
• Ensure productivity and on-time completion

Salary: $40,000 - $60,000 CAD per year (based on experience)

Schedule

Monday to Friday

This is a full-time Sign Fabricator position based in Toronto, 40 hours per week, working Monday to Friday, 7 am-4:30 pm, with the possibility for voluntary overtime.

Education

High school diploma or equivalent (required); vocational training in metal fabrication (preferred)

Experience

Minimum 2 years of metal or sign fabrication (preferred)

Sign Installer

Job Description

Everest Signs of Toronto, Canada is looking for a qualified Sign Installer to play a crucial role in our in-house fabrication and installation teams. The ideal candidate will be responsible for safely and reliably installing various types of signage, ensuring that every project meets our clients specifications and high standards. This includes retrofits and upgrades of existing signs. Attention to detail, craftsmanship, and technical skills will contribute to the success of each project at Everest Signs.

Location

Toronto, Canada (with relocation options available for candidates from Dubai, UAE, India, and other locations)

Key Responsibilities

• Install and maintain signage (facia/pylon signs, channel letters, vinyl, pylons, canopies, awnings, etc.) according to specifications and safety standards
• Ensure electrical connections for illuminated signs are properly made
• Read and interpret blueprints and installation diagrams
• Operate tools and equipment safely and efficiently
• Collaborate with team members to ensure accurate and timely project completion
• Provide excellent customer service during installations
• Troubleshoot and resolve installation issues as they arise
• Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work area
• Document and report any installation challenges or required modifications
• Provide documentation of daily visual inspection of trucks and trailers along with record keeping (pictures, job numbers, returned inventory, etc.) as required
• Understand MTO regulations for weight, tie downs, and other aspects
• Enter daily trip log data per MTO requirements
• Work closely with the Install Manager to understand the expectations for each installation
• Must be comfortable working at heights and working in varying weather conditions
• Willing to load/unload trailer prior to and following job completion
• Other duties as assigned

Desired Skills and Experience

• Minimum 2 years of experience as a qualified sign installation technician (preferred)
• Preference given to those with commercial sign and lighting industry experience
• Effective communication skills and ability to work well in a team environment
• A valid G-class drivers license in good standing
• Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to read and interpret job sheets
• Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and measuring equipment
• Experience with electrical wiring or as a journeyman electrician (an asset)
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to work with precision
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot issues as they arise
• Open to overnight travel and flexible with extended work hours as needed
• Excellent organizational and time management skills
• No issues with moderate heights and use of aerial lifts
• Experience with bucket trucks and scissor lifts is considered an asset
