Store Manager for Spar Supermarket in Botswana

Job Description :

1.Receive stock/merchandise deliveries from approved suppliers strictly in compliance with Purchase Orders and deal sheets; .

2.Check if merchandise in good quality and well packed to sustain storage;

3.Do not accept short expiry merchandise unless authorized by the Management;

4.Ensure effective space management and stock movement following FIFO or suitable method by the management from time to time;

5.Check palletized merchandise of mixed products are in order and no shortages or damages

6. Lay claim for credit for short supplies, over charges, damages and expired items;

7. Follow up claims pending with suppliers and ensure timeous action on them;

8.Ensure merchandise stored safely pending its movement to shop floor;

9.Ensure routine inspection to identify and removal of expired merchandise in display;

10. Quantify and alert the store manager to expedite sale of short expiry items;

11. Safe keeping and disposal of expired stock/merchandise and lay claim where applicable; 12. Liaise with City Council health department for safe disposal of expired items and obtain documentary evidence from authority

13. Lay claim for stock damage due to unscheduled power-cut and cooling system breakdowns;

14. Alert Store manager of any overstock items to avoid stockholding cost

15. Involve in perpetual stock take and address stock variance

16. Involve in retail pricing (GRV) and advise GRV team smart pricing process if any;

17. Prepare weekly/monthly MIS report on assigned departments

18. Oversee service departments (Bakery, Takeaway, fresh produce & Butchery) performance and ensure productivity at all levels;

19. Assist Store Manager on store management, stock management, pricing management, gp management and MIS reports;

20. Learn store opening and closing procedures and follow opening and closing schedules assigned to you

21. Involve in customer service and address queries if any

22. Manage employees and clocking systems

23. Perform such other functions as may assigned by the management from time to time.
