Sr. Engineer / Asst. Manager for Ashok Leyland, UAE

Ashok Leyland (UAE) LLC is a subsidiary of Ashok Leyland Ltd, and is based in Ras Al Khaimah (RAK), United Arab Emirates. The plant has been in operation since 2009, and was set up to manufacture buses and trucks to the countries of Gulf Co-operation Council (GCC), and other markets of Middle East and Africa. The RAK plant marked Ashok Leylands first foray in setting up greenfield manufacturing facilities overseas, in line with its vision towards becoming a global CV player. The plant was the first bus manufacturing plant to be set up in the GCC region, and continues to be one of the few integrated bus manufacturing facilities in the region. The plant is set up on a 100,000 sqm (24.7 Acres), with a capacity to manufacture over 6,000 buses and trucks annually. It has a full-fledged chassis assembly line, weld and panelling line, bus painting facility, trim line and testing facilities for bus / truck assembly. The plant also has an in-house Product Development team, proto shop and facilities for testing and validation of new variants / models. Being the first automotive OEM in the region, the plant has developed and established an extensive local vendor base, increasing the local content over 50%. This has laid the foundations for establishing an automotive manufacturing ecosystem in the UAE, contributing to the countrys industrialisation and manufacturing strategy. The plant has been recognised with MENA Stevie Awards for Manufacturing Excellence, and Environmental Performance Certificate from the UAE Ministry of Environment and water, towards the plants efforts in driving sustainable environmental practices. The buses manufactured in the plant cater to the school and staff transportation requirements of the GCC region, and also support project requirements in African markets. With expertise developed in bus manufacturing, the RAK plant is well equipped to address the fast-changing requirements of the bus industry, and support Ashok Leyland’s global expansion

Position: Sr. Engineer / Asst. Manager - Process Planning / Industrial Engg.

Role & responsibilities

• Responsible for Line balancing, Process study, Cycle time study, Process improvement
• Responsible for PFD, WIS, PFMEA preparation, EBOM, MBOM verification
• Stage planning sheet, PCN processing, Nesting the raw materials
• ECN change implementation, New model productization, auto cad, Design related coordination with engineering team.
• Added advantage candidate with knowledge in Sealant validation, Dye penetration test, Weld penetration, Template making and Involves in Problem solving projects and Process excellence.

Preferred candidate profile

- Drawing study, CAD working experience

- Candidate preferable from OEM / Auto Components Industry

-Preferable candidate who can join short notice
