HSE Officer for OCC Constructions, Qatar

Role & responsibilities

Safety Officers are field staff for advising, mentoring, motivating and monitoring the workforce regarding the implementation of SHE requirements at site. Safety Officers report to the HSE Manager. Safety Officers are expected to work in shifts (day/night)

Preferred candidate profile

Diploma or equivalent qualification. Studied as a full time student in a reputable institute with a minimum of one year course duration in Occupational Safety and Health or NEBOSH/NVQ Certificate

Good understanding regarding the working and correct usage of different types of safety equipment (fall arrestors/PPEs etc.)

Sound knowledge in emergency response and management

Good understanding of hazards and controls of work at height, confined space and hot work

Good knowledge on types of gas monitors, gas test requirements and characteristics of toxic and flammable gases, preferably AGT

Good communication (oral) skills in English

Worked in a construction project of large scale (> 2000 workers) for a minimum of 2-years managing HSE matters including behavioral safety
