Purchase & Merchandising Planning Head for Redstar International Ltd., Kenya

The company deals in the sourcing, manufacturing and distribution of quality Furnishing products namely Towels, Beddings, T.O.B Items, Blankets, Duvets, and Pillows 

HEAD OF PURCHASING/ MERCHANDISE PLANNING HOME FURNISHINGS RETAIL CHAIN

SOURCING & PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT & MANAGEMENT

• Responsible for sourcing, pricing, planning the entire range of products to fit in the retail stores (Bed linen, Bath Linen, TOB, Table & Kitchen Linen, Decors & Accessories) from identification of factories to managing entire process till goods arrive and are on shop floor for sales
• Manage exiting relationships with Textile Mills for Towels, Beddings, Rugs etc
• Work with creative team to devise packaging and ensure correct product info has been captured
• Making the buying plan for every season as per business plan in line with companys budgets and cash flows
• Finalization of order qty, prices, colours, MOQ, lead time, container load ability
• Have good textile knowledge to ensure correct qualities and product is supplied for sale
• Manage reorder planning and dead stock clearance plan with the BOD
• Prepare monthly reports and optimise use of SAP in re-order planning

MERCHANDISING

• Plan the In-Store Layouts and planogram for procured items
• Prepare product manuals, technical specifications to be used in displays of products to enhance customer knowledge and team training
• Assist with visual merchandising ideas in line with suppliers of branded products

SALES & MARKETING & TRAINING

• Initiate strategies along with directors to conduct in-store promotions, marketing activities using technical info & new product launches
• Conduct Team Training to enhance sales
• Plan annual marketing calendar with BOD
