Job description:
The BASIS & Network Administrator is primarily responsible for ensuring tha tCos SAP landscape is running effectively and available 24x7 for end-users. The BASIS & Network Administrator will collaborate with business process owners and other SAP functional teams to configure SAP applications to meet the business needs. Additionally, the BASIS & Network Administrator will be responsible for management and support of the companys network infrastructure and end-user support.
Duties & responsibilities
SAP BASIS
Performs the administration and operation of the SAP systems, including Solution Manager, SAP NetWeaver Solutions, SAP Business Suite Solutions, SAP HANA technologies, associated components and 3rd party tools
Responsible for managing the HANA data repository for SAP, the SAP graphical user interface (GUI), the software installation, performance tuning the applications, interfacing systems and the database platform
Serve as primary technical support for all SAP BASIS related issues. Provide technical expertise for resolving system and availability issues
Responsible for supporting the Development, Quality, Production and DR landscapes for SAP, and migrating code changes through the various environments before the changes are released for production
Strong knowledge and hands-on experience in technical planning, installations, upgrades, OS/DB migrations, Unicode conversions etc.
Configuring and maintaining the operating system and database
Responsible for backup and recovery of the entire SAP landscape including the database
Responsible for user management including creating/disabling users, assigning roles etc. and background jobs scheduling, job monitoring, job deletion etc.
Manage the add-on applications and many of the interfacing systems that are critical to the daily operations of business at Co
Work closely with other members of the technical infrastructure team (server, storage, network, security teams, etc.), the SAP application development team, third parties, application vendors as well as with IT business liaisons
Ensure adherence to regulatory and compliance requirements within SAP system design and implementation
Automate administrative and operational functions. Develop and maintain documentation of SAP user guides, system components and architecture
Other duties as assigned
Network Administration
Knowledge of handling Corporate level inter-office switching, routing & network security
Knowledge of multi-office Cisco CUCM infrastructure
Knowledge of Controller based Wireless Infrastructure with Remote Access points
Other duties as assigned
Education & Experience
Bachelors degree preferred in relevant area
Minimum of 5 years experience supporting large production installations of SAP
Minimum of 2 years experience managing a complex network and server infrastructure
Demonstrated experience in at-least one full life-cycle implementation of SAP
Hands-on experience with databases; Experience managing SAP S/4HANA landscape is preferred
Hands-on experience in SAP performance tuning and troubleshooting
Good understanding of SAP Solution Manager and SAP NetWeaver stack
Experience managing SUSE Linux and VMware virtualization technologies
Knowledge of HP and other SAP server and networking hardware
Knowledge of HP DataProtector, SAP Backint and other related backup tools
Experience and knowledge of managing wired and wireless network equipment along with a strong hold on network security management
Additional requirements
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to assist users who may possess varying levels of computer experience
Demonstrated ability to collaborate and work well in a team environment
Ability to adhere to established policies, procedures and documentation
Strong knowledge of Linux and Windows operating systems
Knowledge of computer and/or network security systems, applications, procedures and techniques
Perform occasional off hours support
Occasional physical work might also be required
SAP Certification will be an added advantage
Network related certifications will be an added advantage
