- The role is for a Buyer/ Purchase Associate for an electronic and consumer technology retailer in Dubai. The company has considerable on-ground presence with brick and mortar stores, and is expanding its online footprint.
The Buyer requires working with current suppliers and researching new ones to buy products for the inventory lineup. In addition, the Buyer will analyze the performance and movement of the current lineup and make new orders accordingly. The role reports in directly to one of the Directors of the company.
The candidate must be willing to relocate to Dubai.
Responsibilities
- Work with current suppliers and research new suppliers to buy electronics and consumer technology products.
- Negotiate with them to get products at the best list.
- Identify new products and categories that can be added to the lineup.
- Arrange for stock collection and clearing from customs when necessary.
- Monitor the stock levels of items on a regular basis and make new purchases when stock levels are running low.
- Work with retail team to ensure a good display of products in all stores in the company
- Prepare weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports on different brands and categories of reports in Excel to evaluate revenue and profitability
- Knowledge and Experience-
- One/Two years of experience of working with consumer technology mobile phones, laptops, desktops accessories, in a retail or online/eCommerce environment.
- Preference given to candidates who have worked in stores such as Croma, Reliance Digital, and other electronic retails stores.
- Excellent knowledge of written and spoken English and Hindi
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word and Internet/Email systems
- Very strong knowledge of basic mathematics skills.
